Running until 31 August 2026, the limited-time takeover celebrates the rich culture and flavours of Latin America through premium agave spirits, exclusive cocktails, live entertainment and a special National Tequila Day celebration later this month.

A New Agave Experience Comes to South London
Taking over Mercato Metropolitano’s main bar, Cantina Libre has been designed to introduce visitors to the diverse world of agave-based drinks in a relaxed and sociable setting.
Leading the line-up is Sagrado, described as the world’s first sparkling agave cerveza and cider alternative. Inspired by pulque, Mexico’s traditional fermented agave drink, Sagrado offers a lightly sparkling, cider-style beverage crafted entirely from 100% agave.
Alongside Sagrado, guests can also enjoy a carefully curated menu featuring:
- Los Locos Tequila
- La Reina Mezcal
- Signature agave cocktails
- Seasonal tequila and mezcal serves
The pop-up aims to showcase both traditional Mexican heritage and modern innovation, giving visitors the chance to explore flavours beyond the classic margarita.
Celebrate National Tequila Day in London
The highlight of the summer programme takes place on Friday, 24 July, when Cantina Libre hosts a dedicated National Tequila Day celebration.
Beginning at 6pm, guests can attend an immersive agave masterclass exploring the history, production and cultural significance of the agave plant.
The experience includes:
- Guided tequila and mezcal tastings
- An exclusive opportunity to sample traditional pulque
- Signature cocktails made using Sagrado, Los Locos Tequila and La Reina Mezcal
