At the halfway stage for the LALIGA EA SPORTS season, the title race is now starting to take shape with surprise title contenders Girona FC still very much in contention along with Real Madrid CF. FC Barcelona will be looking to catch up with both teams and fill the current seven-point gap. With many LALIGA clubs having now travelled to Riyadh for the Saudi Super Cup, including Los Blancos, could this be a chance for Girona FC to regain the lead at the top of the table?
Saturday evening sees the second Basque Derby of the season, with Athletic Club playing host to local rivals Real Sociedad for the 154th LALIGA Basque Derby. With the away side comfortably winning the reverse fixture 3-0 in September, who will end up on top on in this clash with both teams searching for a place in Europe for next season.
