The original Jumanji film was a huge hit when it was first released in 1995, with that particular edition having managed to fetch $262.8 million at the box office when it was released.

Since then, there have been a handful of adaptations of the classic, with TV shows and films having been huge successes in recent years. So much so that it has been confirmed that Jumanji 4 will be released in the near future.

The success of Jumanji as a franchise

It is not difficult to understand why there will be another release of the huge franchise, as it has proven to be a popular hit worldwide. According to figures, more than $2 billion was grossed across the planet at the box office, despite having a total budget of $345 million.

For those unaware, the Jumanji franchise is based on Chris Van Allsburg’s children’s novels that were written in 1981. It is based on the exploits of the various characters that were created who played a board game. As they do, they will get themselves into situations that require them to complete it. As they play and roll the dice, the jungle comes to life around them. The only way they can stop the dangers that are being experienced is by finishing the game successfully.

Each film has been slightly modified, with the newest releases having been modernised. For instance, the 2017 instalment – “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” uses a video game instead of a board game.

Given the franchise’s success, it isn’t surprising that it has been franchised out into other entertainment forms. There are video games that are available based on the stories, as well as there being a slot game. This game can often be found on many of the biggest casino pages, with it also being one of those that is possible to play with a bonus that can be obtained. The 32red free spins is one of those offers, which could also be used on other slots that have been inspired by a franchise series, including Game of Thrones, Narcos, and Jurassic Park.

Jumanji 4: What do we know?

Fans of the series will already know that Jumanji 4 has been confirmed and is in development. Although it is still relatively early to know about the potential plot of this film, there were hints and clues of what it could be in the 2019 release “Jumanji: The Next Level”.

During the film’s mid-credits scene, the potential of new film instalments were teased, and many had caught on to them. However, while there is now news about its confirmation, information is still relatively light on the ground at the moment.

A release date – or even a tentative one – is yet to be confirmed. It is likely the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are to have impacted the production of the film, thus potentially making any anticipated release even longer. However, there has been confirmation about the cast.

Although we can expect to see many of the same faces returning, there may be questions about filming and how or when it is done. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the stars of the rebooted franchise, however, he appears to have other work commitments at the moment. He recently made a return to the WWE and it will be interesting to see what his program with the wrestling company looks like, especially as the Royal Rumble is on the horizon, ultimately leading to the Road to Wrestlemania portion of the promotion’s calendar (it’s biggest).

Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are all confirmed but will have their own projects to focus on, too. There have been rumours of Brendan Fraser potentially joining the cast, but these are yet to be addressed completely, as they are yet to be confirmed or denied. Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain and Madison Iseman should also make a return as the individuals who portray the characters of the players.

Watch this space

There may not be enough info about Jumanji 4 just yet, but we already know that the film instalment has been confirmed, as have many of the actors. It will be interesting to see the next developments in its story, whether any other actors join the team, and whether it is able to live up to the expected heights many will have for it based on the previous successes that have been enjoyed at the box office.
