What’s In?
-
New Industrial – 12,666,737 views on Tiktok
The industrial home decor trend has existed for a while but persists into 2025. This type of design takes inspiration from old factories and warehouses and involves exposed brick and wood, metal accents, and reclaimed materials.
New industrial design is often complimented with minimalistic furniture and muted colour pallets such as grays, soft browns, and muted greens. Plenty of natural lighting is also a pivotal part of the design, with these spaces usually having large windows, or failing that, window-shaped mirrors to help bounce the light around the rooms.

Nature-inspired Maximalism – 8,539,500 views on Tiktok
As the name suggests, this trend combines the chaos of maximalism with the beauty of nature. Maximalism embraces the mantra “more is more”, often using bold and vibrant colours, a mix-match of textures, and extravagant accents to create an individually grandiose space.
Nature-inspired maximalism often incorporates botanical prints, earthy colours, natural materials such as wood and stone, and, of course, lots of plants! Whether it be dried flowers on the wall, baskets hanging from the ceiling, or a simple potted plant in the corner of a room, tying botanicals into your design is the essence of nature-inspired maximalism.
Monika Puccio, Head Buyer for Sofa Club comments: “Maximalism has emerged as a refreshing response to years of minimalist dominance, offering a playful, expressive approach to interior design. Maximalism’s bold colours, patterns, and textures celebrate individuality, offering homeowners a way to express personality.”

Colour Blocking Minimalism – 7,343,042 views on Tiktok
While colour blocking and minimalism aren’t words you would hear together often, this trend involves embracing the power of colour for a minimalist space. If you’re unsure about introducing colour into your space, try neutral tones or one colour in different shades.
When colour-blocking in a minimalist space it’s important to keep things simple! Try using colour to create an accent wall, or take a 50/50 approach to your walls. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can layer colour over walls and doors in a simple pattern to create a bold yet still minimalist look.

Indoor Swings – 4,966,800 views on Tiktok
Indoor swings have grown in popularity over the last few years, and one reason for this is the celebrities who endorse them. Unlike the other entries on this list, this trend is a simple addition to your home which can easily elevate a space’s comfort and functionality.
Celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian and Jada Pinkett have shown their indoor swings to their millions of fans, prompting an increase in their popularity. These swings often mimic those you would find in a home’s back garden but are draped with fur and blankets, creating a cosy and unique addition to a room.

Bold Colours – 4,486,167 views on Tiktok
While incorporating bold colours may seem daunting at first, this decor trend is a must for 2025. As the name suggests, bold colour design involves painting your walls in visually striking colours to make a room pop!
It’s important to choose more muted tones of the colours you want as they appear more visually soothing, but don’t be afraid to try jewel tones and citrus hues. Have a go at mixing different colours within a room – more is more! If you don’t like it, you can always try again.

What’s Out?
Now we must look at what trends we should leave in 2024.
Trends such as Quiet Luxury and Mono Rooms are being left behind as we begin to embrace colour. These trends rely on white and beige tones, with similarly coloured accents, making for a rather uninspiring design.
Similarly, older trends such as Vintage Lighting and 1980s Glass Bricks are also going out of fashion as we move into 2025. While they are interesting statement pieces, their overuse can be overwhelming.
Monika Puccio, Head Buyer for Sofa Club provides a comment on 2025’s interior design trends and how to make the most of them;
“Interior design trends evolve quickly, reflecting culture and preferences, however, trends like biophilic design and versatile, comfortable furniture consistently remain popular. Start with timeless, versatile furniture and layer on trendier accessories like cushions or artwork. Focus on blending trends with your personal style and prioritise quality for lasting impact. A thoughtful mix of classic and trendy ensures a stylish, functional home.”
