JD to Host Back-To-School Workshops & Exhibition with BeauBeaus and Slawn

JD is kicking off its latest Back to School campaign, ‘Start Fresh,’ in style. The sports and fashion retailer has teamed up with BeauBeaus and will be supported by Slawn to host back-to-school art workshops, along with an exhibition curated by the Museum of Youth Culture. This campaign celebrates the limitless energy, individuality, and unstoppable spirit of today’s youth as they embark on their next chapter.

To celebrate ‘Start Fresh,’ JD is partnering with the popular East London community hub BeauBeaus to host a series of immersive art workshops. These workshops, supported by contemporary artist Slawn, will be accompanied by a back-to-school exhibition curated by the Museum of Youth Culture. The exhibition pays tribute to the evolution of the schoolyard’s ultimate style icon: the backpack.

On Wednesday 21st August and Thursday, 22nd August, BeauBeaus will host a special viewing of the Museum of Youth Culture’s exhibition, showcasing the evolution of the backpack in British youth street culture, from past to present designs. The exhibition will also mark 25 years of the iconic JD duffle bag, a staple in the nation’s wardrobe for over two decades. Visitors can enjoy complimentary drinks from JD and chicken wings from Wingstop at key times throughout the day, available at the BeauBeaus café.

The JD ‘Start Fresh’ campaign draws inspiration from the dynamic theme of ‘Fire and Ice’: fiery outfits paired with ice-cold products. To celebrate the launch, BeauBeaus owner and acclaimed artist Slawn – known for his signature blend of spray paint, pop-art canvases, graffiti, and caricatures – has created two custom pieces of art inspired by ‘Fire and Ice.’ These designs will be transformed into collectible clothing patches. All workshop attendees will have the chance to take these exclusive patches home, adding a unique touch to their back-to-school essentials and helping them stand out from the crowd.

Thursday 22nd August will see BeauBeaus creative team hosting immersive ‘Fire and Ice’ art workshops, allowing fans to design and customize their own back-to-school backpacks and clothing patches inspired by Slawn’s artwork. These workshops will encourage participants to express their individuality and creative style as they prepare for the new school year.

To be part of one of JD’s ‘Start Fresh’ art workshops taking place this August, you can sign up via BeauBeaus here to be in with a chance to claim a spot.
