What To Wear Now: SEVEN LAYER

MANCHESTER-BASED luxury-performance brand, SEVEN LAYER, proudly announces that its Spring/Summer 2024 collection, the KURO SYSTEM, has officially dropped. Specialising in functional all-weather products, SEVEN LAYER draws inspiration from the ECWCS, the archival foundation of the US military layering system, merging vintage utility with contemporary materials and aesthetics.

Crafted under the visionary guidance of founder and Creative Director Jamie Lundy, the KURO SYSTEM marks a bold evolution into luxury streetwear. This collection showcases a mature and refined palette, moving away from the vibrant colours of past seasons. Each piece is a testament to SEVEN LAYER’s commitment to innovation, blending advanced manufacturing techniques and technical fabrics with the brand’s distinctive style.

The KURO SYSTEM will be unveiled through a series of weekly drops. The first release features luxury basics and essentials, followed by T-shirts, track shorts, trousers, track pants, sweaters, hoodies, shirts and tailored jackets in subsequent weeks. The collection is available in a neutral range of colours including black, ecru, tan, and brown, perfect for individuals seeking timeless silhouettes and seamless layering. The KURO SYSTEM epitomises an innovative approach to fashion.

Sustainability is at the heart of SEVEN LAYER’s ethos. The brand is dedicated to creating garments that withstand the test of time and adapt to the ever-changing cultural and environmental landscape.

“KURO is designed for today’s modernist lifestyle and is built for all-around comfort on the go,” says Lundy. “We are enthused and meticulous about fusing fashionable garments with technical and innovative fabrics. You’ll find layers with stretch fabrics for that ultimate comfort and versatility, Coolmax technology that keeps you cool under UV rays, a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) that protects you from the rain, and a C-Change membrane helps regulate your body’s climate. Over the past 5 years, the world has changed, we all must adapt and change with it.” Lundy continues. “SEVEN LAYER is driven by a mission to create garments that are appealing, relevant and stand the test of time, adapting to the ever-changing cultural and environmental landscape. Our commitment to desirability, sustainability and adaptability is at the core of everything we do.”

The KURO SYSTEM is perfect for those who demand both style and functionality in their wardrobe. With a focus on durability and adaptability, SEVEN LAYER continues to lead in sustainable fashion, ensuring each piece is designed for longevity and resilience.
