DOLE LAUNCHES TINNED HAWAIIAN PIZZA IN THE UK – THE INTERNET’S MOST DIVISIVE FOOD JUST GOT MORE CONVENIENT!

Food brand Dole has unveiled one of its most unexpected innovations yet: Tinned Hawaiian Pizza — a fully assembled pizza sealed inside a tin for ultimate convenience.

Landing in select UK stores from April 1st, the limited-edition product is already sparking conversation, thanks to its unusual format and its connection to one of food’s most polarising debates: pineapple on pizza.

What Is Dole’s Tinned Hawaiian Pizza?

The product delivers a complete Hawaiian pizza experience in a single tin. Inside, you’ll find:

  • A deep-dish dough base
  • Rich tomato sauce
  • Melted mozzarella cheese
  • Ham pieces
  • And of course, Dole’s signature tinned pineapple

Designed for long shelf life and maximum practicality, the concept leans into convenience culture — offering a ready-to-enjoy pizza that can be stored and consumed anytime.

Why Dole Created a Pizza in a Tin

According to Dole’s Brand Manager, Tao Baidoun, the idea came directly from consumer habits.

“Research showed that the most common use of our tinned pineapple in the UK is for making homemade Hawaiian pizzas… so we thought, why not simplify things even further?”

The innovation aligns with the brand’s wider mission to make fruit consumption easier — though this time, with a distinctly unconventional twist.

The Pineapple on Pizza Debate Returns

Few food topics divide opinion quite like pineapple on pizza — and Dole is leaning all the way into it.

Fans of the controversial combo include:

  • Dwayne Johnson
  • Paris Hilton

While critics remain just as vocal, including:

  • Gordon Ramsay
  • Harry Styles

Despite the divide, Dole’s research claims 65% of UK consumers believe pineapple belongs in savoury dishes, reflecting the growing popularity of sweet-and-salty (“swalty”) flavour trends.

A Limited-Edition Launch for Curious Foodies

Available only while stocks last, Tinned Hawaiian Pizza is positioned as both a novelty and a practical solution for fans of the flavour combination.

Whether it becomes a pantry staple or simply a viral talking point remains to be seen — but one thing is certain: Dole has found a way to reignite one of the internet’s favourite food arguments.
