Secondary school pupils from across Caerphilly came together for two action-packed days of football, as the 2026 Secondary Schools Finals celebrated the very best of grassroots sport in the region.
Organised by Sport Caerphilly, the competition ran throughout the academic year in a knockout format, with school teams battling it out for a coveted place in the finals. The tournament concluded with seven thrilling finals across two days, featuring boys’ teams from Year 7 through to Year 11, alongside Under 13 and Under 15 girls’ competitions.
High-Quality Football and Competitive Spirit
The finals delivered an impressive standard of football, with young players demonstrating exceptional skill, teamwork and determination. Each match was closely contested, reflecting the depth of talent across Caerphilly’s schools and the growing strength of youth football in the area.
The event not only highlighted sporting excellence but also provided a positive environment for students to represent their schools, build confidence and celebrate their achievements with teammates, teachers and supporters.

- Year 8 Boys: Bedwas High School
- Year 9 Boys: St Cenydd Community School
- Year 10 Boys: Newbridge School

- Under 13 Girls: Islwyn High School
- Under 15 Girls: Idris Davies School
