Villa Moretti is a beautiful home set in the rolling hills of Tuscany which has been owned for centuries by a noble Roman family. We drove through the hills and rows of Cyprus trees to arrive at the stunning stone villa which offers stunning views for miles around.
From there it only got better, and we truly got to “Live like an Italian”. Our experience included;
- Riding in an iconic Italian ape to take in some local sites and experience the beautiful, historical Italian streets. The 1965 Fiat we drove in made you feel like you had been transported to a different time and our driver Stefano was an absolute delight.
- Cooking with The Nonnas – these two formidable Grannies will not settle for poorly made pasta! The experience was truly one never to forget; the Nonnas showed us how to create perfect ravioli and then we were sent to our own cooking station to give it a go ourselves. The language barrier didn’t stop them from making it very clear who was doing well and who wasn’t!
- The highest ever aperitivo. This wasn’t just on the top of one of Tuscany’s stunning hills, but in a hot air balloon giving a totally new perspective of the Tuscan landscape.
- Award-winning gelato from world-famous artisan gelato parlour in nearby San Gimignano famed for its simple, quality ingredients, and hosted by master gelato maker Sergio Dondoli.
- A Michelin star-inspired dinner designed by Michelin star chef Viviana Varese. Savouring her experimental dishes that pay homage to the best of Italian cuisine. The simplicity of the dishes and the complexity of the flavours were truly a perfect harmony of traditional, seasonal ingredients and modern culinary technology.
But don’t get too jealous – you can also stay as a special guest at Villa Moretti this summer, by taking part in Moretti’s Next Authentic Non-Italian. The Instagram contest is a series of social challenges inspired by the Italian way of living. At each stage, an authentic Italian host shares Italian social challenges, and encourages followers to share a video with their Italian social challenge.
