Duo and Spike are stepping into each other’s worlds as Brawl Stars and Duolingo launch a limited-time global collaboration packed with new challenges, events and exclusive rewards.
Two of mobile gaming and learning’s most recognisable mascots are officially going head-to-head.
Starting September 19, 2026, Brawl Stars and Duolingo will bring their respective green icons — Spike and the Duo Owl — into each other’s worlds, giving fans the chance to experience the unlikely crossover across both apps.
Running until September 30, the collaboration will see Duo take over Starr Park in Brawl Stars, while Spike makes an appearance inside Duolingo. Players and learners will be able to participate in limited-time events, complete challenges and unlock crossover rewards.
The collaboration follows a playful back-and-forth between the two brands, with their mascots trading jabs across social media before their rivalry eventually spilled beyond the screen.
Now, the competition is being handed over to fans.
Duo Takes Over Starr Park in Brawl Stars
Duo is leaving the language-learning world behind and heading straight into Starr Park, where the green owl becomes the latest boss for Brawl Stars players to take on.
The crossover introduces a brand-new 20v1 Boss Fight, putting a huge group of players against increasingly powerful versions of Duo.
The special game mode takes place inside Duo’s classroom, with players required to work together while also putting their knowledge to the test.
During the Boss Fight, players will encounter quizzes, with correct answers providing rewards while incorrect answers can result in damage or elimination.
It means surviving the encounter isn’t simply about having the strongest Brawler — players will need to pay attention in class too.
Daily Assignments Bring Duolingo Into Starr Park
The crossover doesn’t stop at the Boss Fight.
Brawl Stars players can also participate in a community-wide Daily Assignments event. Players will be invited into Duo’s classroom to complete a lesson each day, culminating in a final exam on the last day.
Completing the challenge will give players the opportunity to unlock an exclusive collaboration reward.
And, naturally, there are consequences for failing to follow the rules. Players who misbehave can expect to find themselves in detention.
Spike Invades Duolingo
While Duo is busy causing chaos in Starr Park, Spike is heading in the opposite direction.
The famously quiet Brawl Stars character is making his way into Duolingo, appearing as part of a special limited-time Quest designed around the platform’s trademark streak system.
Learners will be encouraged to complete their daily Duolingo lessons to progress through the Quest and unlock exclusive crossover rewards.
The collaboration gives Duolingo users another reason to keep their streaks alive while bringing one of Brawl Stars’ most recognisable characters into the language-learning experience.
How to Unlock Spike in Brawl Stars
One of the biggest crossover rewards gives the collaboration a direct connection between the two apps.
Learners who successfully complete the special Duolingo challenge will be able to unlock Spike in Brawl Stars.
So while Duo may be taking over Starr Park, Spike is making himself at home in Duolingo — and completing your lessons could ultimately reward you with a Brawl Stars crossover.
The limited-time Quest will run alongside the wider collaboration from September 19 until September 30, 2026.
When Does the Brawl Stars x Duolingo Collaboration Start?
The global collaboration begins on September 19, 2026, and runs through September 30.
Players can download Brawl Stars through the App Store and Google Play, while Duolingo is available through the App Store and Google Play.

With Duo and Spike finally settling their rivalry inside both apps, fans will have until the end of September to decide which green mascot comes out on top.
