Arthur’s Market Opens on King’s Road with Luxury Countertop Dining from ASA and Salvador

Arthur’s Market has opened its doors on the King’s Road, housing under one roof a blend of neighbourhood grocer, fishmonger, butcher, and dining room. A true oasis for people who place importance on fine food, it has become the ultimate place to pick up exceptional produce, stay for a quick lunch at the counter, and return in the evening when the room subtly shifts into a low-lit dining enclave.

By day, the shelves are lined with meticulously sourced fruit and vegetables, fresh dairy, artisanal cheeses, and a generous offering of Japanese pantry items that are rare to find in London – amongst these being the £100+ crown melon and the famous Omakase strawberries. The fish counter is stocked with everything from whole Spanish tuna and blue belly prawns to several varieties of sea urchin, alongside pristine fish from Cornwall and Scotland. Opposite, the butcher’s counter offers both everyday cuts and cuts for premium evening occasions, with the option to take home premium dishes such as a ready-to-bake beef Wellington prepared by Deli Head Chef Samuele Carelli.

Anchoring the market are two counter restaurants, including ASA Izakaya, the new Japanese hotspot led by Chef Shaulan Steenson, famed for the likes of Endo at the Rotunda, Hakkoku in Tokyo, and Sushi Jin in Singapore. It serves hand rolls and sushi at lunchtime, working directly with the day’s arrivals from the fishmonger. After dark, ASA transforms into an intimate dining room for up to thirty guests, expanding its menu to include dishes such as scallop nigiri, langoustine with sweet soy, and delicate preparations cured or seasoned in the traditional Japanese manner. Alongside the food is a sake list of rare bottles, including coveted labels such as Dassai Beyond and Juyondai.

On the other side of Arthur’s Market is Salvator, which focusses on grilled meats and creative small plates, all with a foundation of exceptional cuts from the market’s own butcher. Dishes might include beef tartare with barrel-aged soy and bone marrow, or pork presa with an nduja bean stew, alongside ever-changing fish and meat specials drawn from the day’s deliveries. There is an extensive wine list available with knowledgeable staff available to serve the perfect pairing, and an enviable cocktail menu with headliners such as the Biscoff Martini, which also doubles up as the ideal dessert.

Arthur’s Market is the vision of founder Artur Voloshin and a group of local friends, created to bring something distinctive to the neighbourhood through their passion for exceptional food and drink. Voloshin also owns the nearby Prince Arthur in Belgravia, which features a Basque restaurant, continuing his focus on premium ingredients and thoughtfully curated dining experiences.

Arthur’s Market can be found at 279 King’s Road, London SW3 5EW – you can learn more about the market and its two restaurants ASA and Salvator right here.
