With four weeks of the NFL season done, there have been many ups and downs for numerous teams already. There are some things that we know that could change next week – because it is the NFL – but here are some things we feel are for certain, for now.
Do the Commanders Have What It’s Got?
Jayden Daniels has come into the league and made his presence known loud and proud. In Week 4, he took down the Arizona Cardinals 42-12. The Commanders are now 3-1 and top of the NFC East. Could this be the Commander’s year? Fans are already looking toward the playoffs. With Daniels leading this team, it seems like the Commanders’ chances are rising little by little every week.
The 49ers are getting it done without CMC
This week, the 49ers win against the Patriots after losing Week 3 against the Rams. Brock Purdy finally woke up after the loss of star players Christian McCaffrey and Deeboo Samuels. Purdy threw 288 yards with one touchdown. Jordan Mason has been a good backup for McCaffrey, with 123 rushing yards this game. The 49ers do not seem to be playing like the powerhouse in the past, but if they continue their season like this game, their chances of playoffs will continue to go up. It may not be as pretty a win when McCaffrey is there, but the 49ers are getting wins.
Baker Mayfield, the Answer
Baker Mayfield dominated the Eagles in Week 4 with 30 catches for 47 attempts. He threw for 347 yards with two touchdowns. Mayfield has been consistent this season for the Buccaneers. So far, he seems to be the answer to the Buccaneers offense. Will he be able to keep up this performance for the upcoming weeks? Only time will be able to answer that. Mayfield is ready to take the Buccaneers to the next level.
The Powerhouse Vikings
Who has what it takes to beat the Vikings? The Minnesota Vikings have come into this season burning hot. They have yet to burn out, but who will be able to stop them? The Packers came close to winning in Week 4, but the Vikings were able to pull it together at the end. As one of the two teams still undefeated, the Vikings have a target on their back. The Vikings are showing to be a powerhouse this season, with Sam Darnold leading the team to victory. The Jets will try to take down the Vikings in London, but with what the Vikings have shown so far, that will be a hard order to place.
Can the Jaguars Get Worse?
The Jacksonville Jaguars have proven over and over again that their season is done when it has just started. The Jaguars truly almost beat the Texans, but at the last minute, they lost it all. They shot themselves in the foot with penalties of the game, and they had a total of 12 penalties for 93 yards. This season, specifically Week 4, has shown how unreliable Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguar defense are to the team. It seems as though there needs to be a serious reconstruction of all ends of the team.
Andy Dalton Not the Answer They Thought
After Week 3, Panther fans were excited to have Andy Dalton replace Bryce Young, claiming that Young was the problem with the offense. However, the Panthers lost to the winless Cincinnati Bengals. Dalton threw one interception in the game. Dalton has been doing great for the Panthers, but he does not seem to be the answer to the questionable Panthers’ defense that many believed in before.
