what to wear now: ADVOCATES

British fashion label ADVOCATES unveils its debut collection, entitled Chapter 1: Stomping Ground. Fusing distinct genres and styles from the past and present, ADVOCATES mission is to construct timeless wardrobe staples which pay homage to the brands two influences: tailoring and biker wear.

Stomping Ground pays tribute to one of England’s most notorious rivalries, the Mods and Rockers, reflected in the two contrasting styles with tailored garments including design features usually reserved for motorcycle wear.

Set up by Co-Founders Elliot Stephen Leach and Jack William Lloyd in 2019, the AW collection is designed in the UK, and produced in Italy, sourcing luxury fabrics from around the world to ensure products of the highest quality.

Denim items are created using a special artisan wash, with imperfections and inhomogeneities which are characteristics of the workmanship, whilst a superior type of ‘Supima’ cotton, grown in the USA, is known for its strength, softness and colour retention. The T-shirts and hoodies are produced using GOTS certified textiles which limits the use of toxic bleaches.

A reinvention of the classics, hero items include a stone washed Denim Vest with hand distressed detailing, a Single Breasted Trench in two colour variants, charcoal and stone, Biker Denim Jeansfeaturing Italian leather ribbed detailing, and a biker inspired blazer. Prices start from £80 for a tee shirt, £220 for men’s trousers, with prices starting from £450 for outerwear.

Co-Founders Elliot Stephen Leach & Jack William Lloyd, said: ‘Our aim has always been to provide luxury clothing that wasn’t just a brand name but was supported by quality fabrics and unique design, all while allowing us to portray what we deem as our personal identity and essential garments for the modern man’s wardrobe.”
