We’re fully in the swing of festival season and with the last few years on hold plus the recent great weather, it’s been pretty lively! Although the typical British summer gives us random gushes of rain between the heat waves, it’s impossible to not feel all the vibes. Raves in the sun without restrictions are fully underway and we were lucky enough to get from one to another in style all thanks to the Honda CR-V. Team Verge adventured on a weekend of fun by heading down to Isle of Wight festival for the hottest day of the year and then back up to Cambridge for Strawberries and Creem the following day.
If you’re not a big car person, shopping for a new one can be super intimidating, with so many options it’s impossible to know what to choose. We’re glad to say that if you’re looking for a drive that’s smooth, sweet, and better for the planet – Honda has you covered. Honda’s CR-V has everything you’d need, whether you’re taking trips with the family or looking for a new party mobile for journeys with friends, this car will be your new best pal. With plush leather seats that feel like a hug after a long day, built-in Honda Connect to keep you en route and entertained, wireless charging that’s perfect for festival season, and full control including automatic drive and multiple ways to adjust for a comfortable journey every time. We tested this SUV to it’s limits as we drove through scorching heat and chaotic rain and we can definitely confirm that this car is worth every penny; it even saves you money with its hybrid recharging system that keeps you moving whilst you’re moving!
First up, the Honda CR-V festival bus took a long drive and a ferry across the Solent and stopped at the Isle of Wight for a day of great music, yummy food, and smiley Brits enjoying the rays. We had a blast watching legends like Nile Rodgers own the stage with back-to-back classics, and new rising stars like Sigrid bring the best energy to the crowd. With a beer in one hand, a phone in the other, and sunglasses to complete the festival fit, it was almost impossible to not be thankful for vaccines, the NHS, and our plants for getting us through the pandemic. What made it even better was knowing that there was a lush ride waiting to glide us back to our beds in preparation for part two the next day.
On Saturday we made the drive to Cambridge for an afternoon of fun at Strawberries and Creem. Even though the weather was not as glorious, fans from all over the UK flooded the Cambridge streets to enter one of the newest and most fun festivals summer has to offer. With the CR-V keeping us dry, warm, and on the right track thanks to the incredible built-in navigation system, we arrived at the festival swag intact and our legs rested for a day of partying. We may have been guilty of attempting to eat from all the wonderful food trucks as we felt a bit spoilt for choice! From German Donner Kebab, delicious Mac and Cheese, and Caribbean food fresh from the grill, we ate way more than we should have. We managed to wiggle our full bellies whilst watching Mabel, Tion Wayne, and Ludacris, so we definitely got our steps in to make up for the third ice cream cone. Even though the rain caused us to run from tent to tent, we still had a blast and can’t wait for next year as we love to see this wonderful festival get bigger and better each time.
A huge special thanks to Honda for letting us take one of the most sought-after hybrid SUVs across the first half of this year’s festival season. We created so many fun memories knowing that regardless of how many ketchup sachets ended up on our new tee’s, we were going to beat the train rush and get to each destination safe and sound. If you’re looking for a new guilt-free way to get around but don’t want to compromise on any of the essentials, the Honda CR-V is exactly what you need!
