Vodafone offers free data to connect with loved ones this Celebration Day

Vodafone is encouraging customers to connect with friends, family and loved ones this Sunday, with 24 hours of free unlimited data, in support of the UK’s first ever ‘Celebration Day’.

‘Celebration Day’ on 26 June will be a day to pause, reflect, remember and celebrate the loved ones who are no longer with us – whether they’re family, friends or someone who has had a positive impact on our lives.  In support of the special day, Vodafone will automatically gift free unlimited UK data to all customers currently on a consumer Pay as you Go, Pay Monthly or VOXI plan.

Celebrities such as Stephen Fry, Richard E Grant, Prue Leith, Lennie James, Anya Hindmarch, Helena Bonham Carter, Jamie Oliver, Gemma Arterton, Harriet Walter and River Medway will also lend their support to the day, with some posting their own stories of how they’ll remember and celebrate their loved ones.

Celebration Day will be an annual event and is about celebrating life and love, and legacies that are positive, inspiring and enriching. Participants are encouraged to share their own stories on whose life they’ll celebrate,  how and why by uploading their videos and images to their own social media channels using #CelebrationDay.

People can remember their loved one in whatever way that they wish. For some, sharing thoughts and memories of that special person, either in person or over the phone or video call will be the best form of celebration, for others it could be by going on their person’s favourite walk, cooking their favourite meal, visiting a place that was special to them or just sharing their story online.
