Where to go now: Botany Bay Hotel w/ booking.com

Last year was a tough one for all of us, there’s no debating that. Some of us are still processing the mess and confusion of lockdown, masks, washing our hands 50 times a day, and monthly food delivery subscriptions. We all seem to be in some form of strange “new normal” adjustment, some of us vaccinated and some of us still sticking swabs up our noses to get into festivals. The main thing a lot of us are missing is a breath of fresh air and inspiration; to look at a nice view surrounded by the ones we love and smiling new faces wherever we look. Where can we find such peace without flying a thousand miles away, you say? The Botany Bay Hotel in Broadstairs is THE answer.

If you’re looking for a place to clear your mind, rid yourself of the stresses of the big city but not have to go through the angst of checking quarantine requirements and cancellation policies, Broadstairs should be high on your list. Who knew that a slice of heaven is just 1.5 hours away from the hustle and bustle of London? If you’re like us, you’re still understanding the vast beauty of England outside of zone 6, and whilst visiting the Botany Bay Hotel, we were reminded about the wonderful world outside of our homes and tube delays.

The Botany Bay Hotel is placed right at the edge of all care and worries and provides views that are beyond priceless. Thanks to our amazing friends at Booking.com, we were lucky enough to enjoy our stay with unmatchable luxury in the superior suite with some of the most iconic British seaside perks. From the rolling cliffs, gorgeous sandy beaches, and refreshing roar of crashing waves, we found ourselves waking up with huge smiles all around. If you’re looking for a hotel where you can really kick your feet back and feel at home, you should look no further. We were constantly happily surprised by the variation of trips they could accommodate: small rooms for those on solo trips to large family suites for travelling groups who want added privacy. We also found that fear of compromising was not an issue at Botany Bay; the food and decor were at the level you’d expect from a five star resort that would usually cost you an arm and leg!

Botany Bay’s incredibly friendly and helpful staff were available day or night and helped with every need. It was two days filled with familiar British holibobs must-haves, including excellent full breakfasts, brilliant on-site pub/bar service, and lots of gorgeous tea breaks.

Let’s be honest, having a dog in central London can just be cruel at times, especially when they’re cramped inside a two bed flat! So pup lovers can rejoice as lovely doggies could be spotted throughout the hotel and surrounding areas, clearly enjoying a landscape only fit for Cruft’s finest. Being only 20 minutes away from fun-packed Margate, there’s plenty to do for every member of the vaycay crew; whether you’re in need of long tranquil strolls across the wide and scenic beaches, fun pier rides with hot donuts, or picturesque photography spots, Botany Bay is an ideal hub for all.

If you’re considering one final get away before we’re reminded of what the UK is usually like 90 percent of the year, head over to Booking.com to see all that Broadstairs and Botany Bay have to offer- we may just relocate there ourselves!
