TUPAC SHAKUR: THE AUTHORISED BIOGRAPHY

Rapper. Actor. Activist. Poet. Revolutionary. One of the greatest and most controversial artists of all time. Though his recording career lasted just five years, Tupac Amaru Shakur (1971-1996) is one of the most popular artists in history, with over 75 million records sold worldwide. More than a quarter of a century after his tragic death in 1996 at the age of just twenty-five, he continues to be one of the most misunderstood, complicated and prolific figures in modern history.

TUPAC SHAKUR: THE AUTHORISED BIOGRAPHY is the first full authorised biography by the Tupac estate. Written by the author and screenwriter Staci Robinson — who knew Tupac as a young man, was a creative collaborator with him, and who was entrusted by his mother, Afeni Shakur, to write this definitive account of Tupac’s life.

Peeling back the myths and unpacking the complexities that have shadowed Tupac’s existence, Robison has had unparalleled and exclusive access to Tupac’s private notebooks, letters, unpublished lyrics and uncensored conversations with those who loved and knew him best. Tupac Shakur: The Authorised Biography is a moving exploration of Tupac Shakur’s life and powerful legacy, illustrated with photos, mementos, handwritten poetry, musings, and tells a powerful story of a life defined by politics and art, and a man driven by equal parts brilliance and impulsiveness.
