TOSHIBA TV AND MARC GUÉHI LAUNCH RETRO REPLAY SHIRT INSPIRED BY ENGLAND’S ICONIC 1966 WORLD CUP MOMENT!

As excitement builds ahead of another huge summer of international football, Toshiba TV UK has unveiled a new campaign celebrating the unforgettable moments that bring England fans together at home.

Partnering with Marc Guéhi and streetwear designer Killa Villa, the brand has launched a limited-edition “Retro Replay Shirt” inspired by Geoff Hurst’s legendary hat-trick during the 1966 FIFA World Cup final — still considered one of England’s greatest football moments.

Football Fans Prefer Watching England at Home

New research commissioned by Toshiba TV found that nearly two-thirds (63%) of football fans prefer watching matches from the comfort of their living room, compared to just 16% who favour the pub experience.

The study also revealed the emotional impact major tournaments have across the UK:

  • 69% of fans believe international football tournaments unite the country more than any other sporting event
  • 48% of Brits say watching England play makes them feel excited or hopeful
  • 30% of England men’s football fans ranked Geoff Hurst’s 1966 hat-trick as their favourite England football moment

The findings highlight how the living room TV remains central to the modern football experience, with fans reliving historic goals and creating new memories from home.

Marc Guéhi Celebrates Football Memories at Home

England defender Marc Guéhi said some of his earliest football memories came from watching matches with family and friends gathered around the television.

He explained that the Retro Replay Shirt celebrates football history while connecting with a new generation of supporters preparing for another summer of football.

Guéhi added that the shirt is designed to remind fans of iconic England moments while inspiring new memories in the months ahead.

A Retro Football Shirt Inspired by 1966

The Retro Replay Shirt blends classic football heritage with contemporary streetwear aesthetics.

Created alongside Killa Villa, the shirt features a unique badge inspired by the soundwaves of one of England’s most famous football commentaries — transforming an instantly recognisable audio moment into a striking visual design.

The campaign reflects Toshiba TV’s “Seeing is Believing” philosophy, which focuses on recreating the stadium atmosphere in the home.

Toshiba TV’s New UF26 and QF26 Ranges

Alongside the campaign, Toshiba TV is spotlighting its latest television ranges, including the UF26 and upcoming QF26 series.

The new TVs feature:

  • 4K UHD resolution
  • QLED display technology
  • Dolby Vision visuals
  • Dolby Atmos sound
  • TRU picture engine for smoother motion
  • Built-in Fire TV and Freely integration
  • Alexa compatibility and personalised profiles

According to Toshiba TV, the aim is to deliver an immersive matchday experience with sharper detail, richer colours and cinematic sound for fans watching live sport at home.

The UF26 range is available now through selected retailers, while the QF26 lineup launches on 1 July.

How Fans Can Win the Retro Replay Shirt

To celebrate the launch, Toshiba TV is giving fans the chance to win a signed Retro Replay Shirt from Marc Guéhi alongside a Toshiba TV through a nationwide competition hosted on the brand’s official Instagram page.
