The National Gallery Curates the Perfect Christmas Wishlist for Art Lovers

The National Gallery Shop’s Christmas collection features a range of hand-crafted decorations and baubles, a line rooted in the Frans Hals exhibition currently at the Gallery, and a limited-edition set of Christmas cards inspired by its paintings.

The National Gallery Shop has partnered with several independent suppliers to curate both the Frans Hals collection and bespoke products in the Christmas range. The products in the Frans Hals collection are inspired by the artist’s signature colour palette, in combination with trending colours for the AW23 season. Customers can choose from a stunning range of Good Squish scrunchies or lace collars by designer Azima Musaueva, both of which echo detailed fabrics highlighted in Frans Hals’ portraits. They can also shop from a hand-selected range of homeware featuring vases, jugs, and limited-edition bone china from award-winning London interiors brand Melody Rose.

Mistletoe Opening Bauble (£12), Glass Bus Christmas Decoration (£5), Gold Foil Finial Decoration (£6)

The Christmas collection also features a range of bespoke decorations by Felt So Good, who partner with ethical and sustainable small cottage industries in Nepal, working with skilled tradespeople as well as developing local skills and securing local employment, to create these beautiful wool products. The decorations are created in the likeness of famous painters such as Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, as well as famous paintings like Sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh. The decorations mark a sustainable option for Christmas decorations, and are exclusively available from the National Gallery Shop.

London At Christmas Medium Oblong Plate (£55)

The shop’s wider range of Christmas decorations, cards, and crackers this year includes an array of landscapes, characters, animals, and traditional ornament designs inspired by the National Gallery Collection, including nativity scenes.

Jan Brueghel the Elder’s The Adoration of the Kings Christmas Cards, Pack of 6 (£8.50)

The collection also includes a smaller range of intricate London-inspired designs, including Big Ben, a double-decker bus, and a phone box.

The National Gallery Shop’s Christmas and AW products range in price from £5 to £250, with every purchase helping to support the National Gallery. Browse the Christmas range here.
