The Hummingbird Bakery Celebrates Two Decades of Delicious with Birthday Carnival

For Londoners with a sweet tooth, there’s nothing like a mouthwatering visit to iconic American bakery The Hummingbird Bakery. As the ultimate cupcake destination hits the big 2-0, it has been marking the occasion with a Birthday Carnival bonanza, which will continue through to the 14th July at its Soho location. From themed cupcakes and cotton candy to ice cream floats and even a Zoltar machine, this is a must-visit for all city cake-lovers.

While The Hummingbird Bakery may be best known as the home of the oven alchemists that brought forth the Red Velvet revolution and conceived cupcake flavoured soft-serve ice cream, the 20th anniversary has introduced a parade of US inspired treats including giant versions of already legendary cupcakes and indulgent pies to satisfy even the greatest of sugar fiends.

The in store experience is as much one for ‘Gram as it is for the tastebuds. A purchase of any bake will grant you a token for the Zoltar machine, which will be telling fortunes of gifting items from The Hummingbird Bakery’s menu. The new carnival-themed cupcakes are colourful and packed with popular, nostalgic, and unique flavours, including Coke Float, Candy Apple, American Brunch, Popcorn, and more. And if that wasn’t enough, there will also be Ice Cream Floats and cupcakes on a stick available, swirled with a fluffy cloud of cotton candy, along with the limited-time comeback of the beloved Raspberry Cheesecake Brownie.

Of course, no birthday celebration is complete without cake, and lots of it. The Hummingbird Bakery has that covered, with the The Giant Vanilla Pinata Cupcake and The Giant Red Velvet Cupcake, perfect for those who just can’t get enough of their iconic bakes. The Giant Vanilla Pinata Cupcake is a supersized version of the fluffy vanilla sponge fans know and love, topped with Vanilla buttercream. The Giant Red Velvet Cupcake is a deep red vanilla cake with a light taste of chocolate, topped with cream cheese frosting.

Established on the vibrant Portobello Road in Notting Hill back in 2004, The Hummingbird Bakery has been delighting customers with its scrumptious, freshly-baked, preservative-free treats ever since. Now, with six locations across London, including the newest addition in Soho, it continues to be the top destination for those craving a ‘home-baking’ experience. The bakery also offers a variety of vegan and gluten-free options, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

For those who aren’t able to make it down to the Soho branch to celebrate the momentous occasion, The Hummingbird Bakery also conveniently offers a delivery service to your doorstep for online orders, where you can find select from the store’s exquisite cakes, cupcakes, cookies, cheesecakes, pies, brownies, and more, whether you’re in the heart of London or across the UK.

You can celebrate The Hummingbird Bakery’s 20th Birthday Carnival at 118 Wardour Street, W1F 0TU, until 14th July.
