Fans of The Boys have officially been given their first glimpse at the franchise’s next brutal chapter, as Prime Video has unveiled the first teaser for the upcoming prequel series Vought Rising.
Set to premiere in 2027, the highly anticipated spin-off dives deep into the sinister origins of Vought International, the corrupt corporation at the centre of The Boys universe. The new series continues the expansion of one of streaming’s most successful superhero franchises and promises the same dark satire, violence, and twisted storytelling that made the original show a global hit.
Vought Rising Takes Fans Back to the 1950’s!
Unlike the modern-day chaos of The Boys, Vought Rising transports viewers to the 1950s, exploring the early foundations of Vought International and the rise of superheroes as a corporate commodity.
The newly released teaser offers a first look at the series’ retro aesthetic and hints at the dangerous power struggles that shaped the world long before Homelander’s reign.
According to Prime Video, the series will uncover the “twisted origins” of the company, setting the stage for what becomes the morally bankrupt empire seen throughout The Boys.
Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash Return!
The prequel will see Jensen Ackles reprise his role within the franchise alongside Aya Cash, with both stars also serving as producers on the project.
The cast additionally includes:
- Mason Dye
- Will Hochman
- KiKi Layne
- Jorden Myrie
- Nicolo Pasetti
- Elizabeth Posey
- Ricky Staffieri
- Brian J. Smith
The Creative Team Behind the Series
Vought Rising will be helmed by showrunner Paul Grellong, with longtime The Boys creator Eric Kripke returning as executive producer.
Other executive producers attached to the project include Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Neal H. Moritz, and comic creators Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
The series is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
The Boys Franchise Continues to Grow
Since debuting in 2019, The Boys has become one of Prime Video’s biggest global successes, earning multiple Emmy nominations and spawning a rapidly expanding shared universe.
Alongside the flagship series, the franchise already includes animated anthology The Boys Presents: Diabolical and college-set spin-off Gen V.
With Vought Rising, Prime Video appears set to explore the mythology of the franchise on an even larger scale while giving fans a deeper understanding of how Vought became the terrifying corporation audiences know today.
All series within The Boys universe are available exclusively via Prime Video UK.
