Fans of mobile gaming and one of television’s most iconic families are in for a treat as MONOPOLY GO! and The Simpsons have officially teamed up for a major crossover event that brings Springfield to life like never before.
Developed by Scopely in collaboration with the creative team behind the long-running animated series, the limited-time event runs from 3 June to 29 July and marks The Simpsons’ first dedicated mobile gaming experience in more than 13 years. Players can explore iconic Springfield locations, interact with beloved characters and experience entirely new stories created exclusively for the collaboration.
Springfield Comes to MONOPOLY GO!
During the event, players can journey through reimagined versions of classic Simpsons locations, all recreated in MONOPOLY GO!’s colourful art style.
From the famous Nuclear Power Plant to Krustyland, Springfield has been fully integrated into the game, allowing players to build, explore and progress through themed boards packed with references and hidden surprises. Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Mr. Burns all make appearances alongside the game’s familiar mascots, including Mr. Monopoly.
The crossover is designed to be much more than a simple cosmetic update. According to Scopely, the collaboration introduces an entirely new shared universe where the worlds of MONOPOLY GO! and The Simpsons collide through original storytelling, gameplay mechanics and animation.
New Story-Driven Episodes Arrive
One of the biggest additions is the introduction of narrative-driven “Episodes.”
These original stories unfold every two weeks and connect seasonal maps, sticker collections, mini-games and animated sequences. Players can follow adventures ranging from nuclear disasters caused by Homer Simpson to mysteries unfolding inside Krustyland.
For the first time in MONOPOLY GO!’s history, the gameplay experience becomes interconnected through a continuing storyline that evolves throughout the event.
New Gameplay Features and Rewards
The Simpsons collaboration introduces several new gameplay features designed specifically for the event:
The Simpsons Run
Every two weeks, a different Springfield resident takes over the Free Parking tile, triggering character-themed runs across the board filled with hazards, comedy and rewards.
Bribe Wiggum
Players sent to Jail can now attempt to bribe Chief Wiggum for the chance to earn bigger rewards. Naturally, things do not always go according to plan.
Springfield-Themed Shutdowns and Heists
Classic MONOPOLY GO! events receive a Simpsons makeover, featuring runaway monorails, wrecking-ball destruction and over-the-top animated chaos inspired by memorable moments from the show.
Simpsons Chance Cards
More than 50 themed Chance Cards have been added, packed with references, memes and callbacks to some of The Simpsons’ most famous episodes.
Exclusive Sticker Collections
The event also introduces limited-time Episode Sticker Sets that change throughout the collaboration.
Each collection ties into the latest story chapter and features exclusive artwork, character-focused narratives and rewards that can only be earned during the active episode window.
Players will also be able to collect a wide range of themed tokens, collectibles and bonus rewards inspired by Springfield’s most memorable residents and locations.
Mr. Burns vs Mr. Monopoly
Launching alongside the event is an original animated short titled “Mr. Burns and Mr. Monopoly’s Excellent Rivalry.”
Written and produced by The Simpsons team, the short sees Mr. Monopoly, voiced by Will Ferrell, face off against Mr. Burns, voiced by Harry Shearer.
The story follows a long-standing feud dating back to their university days, sparked by the theft of a top hat. The rivalry quickly escalates into a chaotic battle involving familiar faces from both universes.
A Huge Moment for The Simpsons in Gaming
The collaboration represents a significant return to mobile gaming for The Simpsons, introducing Springfield to a new generation of players while offering long-time fans countless Easter eggs and references to discover.
With original stories, themed mini-games, exclusive collectibles and an animated short, the crossover is shaping up to be one of MONOPOLY GO!’s most ambitious events to date.
MONOPOLY GO! featuring The Simpsons is available as a free download on iOS and Android until 29 July 2026.
