Vibrant Italian-inspired hotspot Sycamore Covent Garden has unveiled a new chapter for its food and drinks menus. Located just moments from the heart of the West End inside lifestyle hotel Middle Eight, it brings soulful Sicilian flavour to London, perfect for laid-back lunches and stylish evenings alike – delivering authentic Italian dishes with a modern edge.
A refined selection of small plates designed for sharing form the new Cicchetti menu, and include highlights such as bruschetta and crostini topped with indulgent combinations such as chicken liver pâté with crispy sage, creamy baccalà mantecato, and rich smoked butter topped with anchovy. Mains include the colourful Sicilian Superfood Salad, balancing pomegranate, orange, edamame, and couscous with citrus vinaigrette, while the indulgent Wagyu Burger features an 8oz patty with spicy ‘nduja mayo and San Daniele ham. At the bar, standouts include braised octopus and potato croquettes, served with smoked pepper mayo – the ideal partner alongside an aperitivo.
To match the menu refresh, Sycamore has introduced a curated wine list featuring 150 bottles, including Sicilian favourites and global gems like Ferrari Blanc de Blancs and crisp Pommery Brut. There has also been an upgrade the cocktail list, which includes bespoke drinks made with Middle Eight’s exclusive house gin, crafted in collaboration with Diistil, and selected to complement the vibrant flavours of the kitchen.
The restaurant’s new era is set to a musical backdrop, with live DJs and vinyl sessions every Thursday through Saturday. The entertainment is a nod to the hotel’s name, Middle Eight, taken from the musical term for a bridge in a song.
