Studio Shaft & Rooster Teeth Productions Team Up For RWBY: Ice Queendom

RWBY: Ice Queendom (RWBY) Rooster Teeth Productions and Studio SHAFT co-created the Japanese animated series RWBY: Hysetsu Teikoku with English subtitles which premiered on July 3rd, 2022 and will continue for 12 episodes until September 18th, 2022.

The late Monty Oum initially presented the idea to Rooster Teeth co-founder Burnie Burns during the creation of Rooster Teeth Animation’s Red vs. Blue Season 10 and Monty Oum couldn’t have anticipated the influence his show would have reached global popularity, becoming the first of its kind to be distributed in Japan. Now, RWBY finally has its very own anime, Ice Queendom, ahead of its ninth season and more than nine years after the first teasers for the series went public.

The long-running saga is expertly retold in RWBY Ice Queendom, which also introduces the audience to the key characters, the universe they live in and a tonne of amazing, stylish action. The show’s first chapters do a fantastic job of bringing all of these concepts to life, but what really sets this narrative apart are the four characters who make up the titular team RWBY.

RWBY: Ice Queendom is a perfect place for fans to come back to the series, as a love letter to the first series but now we can see the transformation into a true anime style.
