Samsung has officially announced the new Galaxy A27 5G, bringing a refreshed design, enhanced performance and a suite of AI-powered features to its popular Galaxy A series. Designed to make everyday smartphone use more intuitive, the latest mid-range handset builds on the success of its predecessor while introducing a more immersive display, upgraded hardware and deeper AI integration.
The Galaxy A27 5G will be available from 3 July in select markets and arrives as Samsung continues to expand advanced mobile experiences beyond its flagship devices.
A Bigger, More Immersive Display
One of the most noticeable upgrades is the device’s 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, which now features a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling, gaming and video playback. Samsung has also introduced an Infinity-O punch-hole display, reducing the visible camera area and creating a more modern, edge-to-edge viewing experience.
At just 7.8mm thick, the Galaxy A27 5G maintains a slim profile while offering a larger screen that is designed to minimise distractions and keep content front and centre.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Brings Faster Everyday Performance
Under the hood, the Galaxy A27 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, built on a 4nm architecture. Samsung says the chipset delivers smoother multitasking, improved graphics performance and better energy efficiency compared to previous generations.
The smartphone will be available in multiple memory configurations, including:
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage
Storage can also be expanded via microSD card up to 2TB.
A 5,000mAh battery paired with 25W fast charging aims to provide all-day performance for streaming, gaming and productivity.
AI Features Become More Accessible
Samsung continues its push into artificial intelligence with what it calls “Awesome Intelligence” features now available on the Galaxy A27 5G.
Enhanced Circle to Search
Google’s Circle to Search feature has been upgraded with multi-object recognition, allowing users to identify multiple items within a single image. Whether spotting fashion items, accessories or products, users can search several objects simultaneously and even virtually try on outfits directly from search results.
Smarter Photo Editing
The Object Eraser tool has also been improved, enabling cleaner removal of unwanted objects and distractions from photos with more natural-looking results.
Real-Time Voice Translation
A notable productivity feature comes via Voice Transcription, which can now translate while transcribing recordings. Samsung says the feature supports transcription and translation across 22 languages, making it useful for meetings, lectures and interviews.
Gemini, Perplexity and Bixby Integration
The Galaxy A27 5G supports multiple AI assistants, including Google’s Gemini AI and Perplexity, giving users greater flexibility in how they interact with their device. Samsung has also expanded AI functionality across native apps, including Gallery.
Meanwhile, Bixby has evolved into a more conversational device assistant capable of controlling settings and features through natural language commands.

Camera Upgrades for Everyday Photography
Photography remains a key focus for Samsung’s A-series lineup.
The Galaxy A27 5G features:
- 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS)
- 5MP ultra-wide camera
- 2MP macro camera
- 12MP front-facing selfie camera
Samsung says the upgraded front camera captures a wider range of brightness and richer colours, producing more natural-looking selfies across different lighting conditions.
Six Years of Software Support
One of the standout features is Samsung’s commitment to long-term software support. The Galaxy A27 5G will receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, alongside six years of security updates. This places it among the most future-proof smartphones in the mid-range segment.
The device launches with Android 16 and One UI 8.5 out of the box. Security is reinforced through Samsung Knox Vault, providing hardware-backed protection for sensitive information.
Durability and Design
The Galaxy A27 5G comes with an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, offering protection against splashes and dust ingress during everyday use. It weighs 200g and measures 162.4 x 78.2 x 7.8mm.
Colour options include:
- Black
- Blue
- Light Pink
Samsung’s official announcement also references a Light Green variant in some markets. Availability may vary by region.
