Self-Portrait has unveiled its newest Portraits campaign starring Apple Martin, marking her highly anticipated debut as a fashion brand ambassador. The campaign, photographed by the acclaimed Ryan McGinley—known for his raw and authentic portrayal of youth culture—was shot earlier this year on a sunlit farm in upstate New York.
The intimate series of portraits captures different facets of Apple’s personality, showcasing her confidence and evolving sense of style. Styled by Mel Ottenberg, Apple wears standout looks from self-portrait’s latest ready-to-wear collection, including a white fine lace and satin maxi dress, an off-the-shoulder polka dot mini dress, and a striking silver gradient sequin gown.
“Apple captures the spirit of a generation of women stepping into the world independently,” said Han Chong, Founder and Creative Director of self-portrait. “Working with her has been incredibly inspiring – she represents self-confidence, curiosity and freedom of expression. Approachable, self-aware, professional and wickedly funny, we’re so proud to welcome her into the family.”
Chong also praised McGinley’s creative vision: “It was really important for us to collaborate with someone who deeply understands how to capture youth in a way that feels honest, vulnerable, and free. Ryan brings this campaign to life in such a personal and powerful way.”
At just 21, Apple Martin embodies the coming-of-age spirit that resonates strongly with self-portrait’s community. Her journey into womanhood mirrors the brand’s ongoing commitment to empowering women through self-expression and individuality.
“Debuting with self-portrait was a no-brainer,” said Apple Martin.
“Their British spirit reminds me of growing up in London, so it’s felt like home from the start. Plus, the collections are gorge and approachable! Han and the team welcomed me into the creative process, and I’m so excited for this campaign to be out in the world as we continue exploring this side of my creativity together.”
The collaboration first came to light earlier this year when Apple shared a series of self-portraits that hinted at her partnership with the brand. This campaign cements her arrival in the fashion world as one to watch, blending elegance, authenticity, and youthful energy.
The latest self-portrait collection is now available online.
