Clear River Games, a video game publisher specialising in classic and retro games, in conjunction with Japanese publisher and developer City Connection, today has announced the release of the modern remaster of Mamorukun ReCurse!, available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
Mamorukun ReCurse! is a modern remaster of cult classic arcade shooter Mamorukun Curse!, originally developed by G.rev for Japanese arcades in 2008, and brought back to life by TAKE x OFF, the team behind this year’s highly-regarded Under Defeat port. Prepare to embark on an adventure filled with stunning environments, unusual creatures and a bucket load of bullets with one goal in mind, to save the Netherworld and seal the gate to the World of Darkness.
Take control of Mamoru, who has woken up in the Netherworld after he died in the real world. After running into four new friends, players learn that they are the only hope at stopping the invasion of darkness, which is destined to consume all that lies in its path and ultimately overrun The Netherworld. Do you have what it takes to put an end to its invasion?
In Mamorukun Recurse! the player has full control over their gameplay experience. With the use of Curse Bullets, players can alter the game’s difficulty, bringing more chaos to this vertical shoot’em up and reap the rewards of their choices. The greater the risk, the greater the reward. From wiping out smaller enemies, clearing the screen of projectiles, or granting enemies a power-up to level up the challenge, control is truly in your hands.
Mamorukun ReCurse! has been completely overhauled from the original chaos that players know and love, giving new players the chance to enjoy the cult classic arcade shooter with all the modern enhancements, now featuring widescreen support and twin-stick controls.
