As the UK gears up for the longest day of the year – and what could be the hottest – Popeyes UK is marking the Summer Solstice with a nationwide giveaway of 10,000 free Mini Whipz.
Following the sunniest spring on record and with temperatures set to soar, Brits are expected to flood parks, beaches and beer gardens on Saturday 21st June. To help the nation keep its cool, the New Orleans-born chicken brand is handing out thousands of its Mini Whipz ice cream sundaes with no purchase necessary – the perfect tasty treat to accompany the iconic Chicken Sandwich.
Summer signifies the official start of ice cream season, as searches for ice cream hit their annual peak around the Summer Solstice, with the 2024 high landing between June 23rd–26th*. What’s more, Popeyes has sold over 320,000 Whipz since the beginning of the year, and is on track to sell over a million by the end of 2025.
With swirls of Jersey dairy ice cream, sweet-toothed fans can keep it simple or choose between any of the familiar favourite flavours – Chocolate, Strawberry or Vanilla – to celebrate the extra hours of sunshine.
Popeyes is giving away 10,000 FREE Mini Whipz in either Chocolate, Strawberry or Vanilla this Summer Solstice to help cool down summer-loving Brits. All fans need to do is download the Popeyes app and register for an account this week. Lucky Mini Whipz winners will be notified on Saturday 21st June 2025.

The Popeyes UK app is available to download on iOS and Android now. Simply download and register in the app this week to be in with the chance of bagging a Mini Whipz from any of Popeyes’ restaurants or drive-thrus on Saturday 21st June. The Popeyes Mini Whipz are also available to order via the Popeyes app, on delivery or in their 75 restaurants including 16 drive-thrus nationwide.
