Calling all daters! Research commissioned by Uber reveals almost half (44%) of Brits who are actively dating feel more confident and relaxed on a date if they’ve set a deadline and know when and how they’ll make their exit.
Dating expert, Jacob Lucas, reveals that the trick is to plan where you can, and setting a date deadline by pre-booking a car to pick you up after a date is the emerging dating trend that will help you feel cool, calm and confident ahead of a date.
However, 79% don’t know the optimum time to spend on a date, with over half of daters worrying the date will become boring if it goes on for too long. 73% of daters also worry about the awkward goodbye at the end of a date, and 61% wish they had a reason to leave at the end of the date.

- Wear your best clothes and perfume. When you look and smell good, you feel good. When we look and smell our best on a date, we have one less thing to worry about because we know they will love what they see.
- Pre-book a car so you spend the optimum amount of time on the date
- Slow down! When we are nervous, we talk fast and move twitchy. Slow down the way you talk and your body language and you will convince your brain there is nothing to be nervous about, and you will start to naturally feel more confident.
- Get into a talkative state before your date. Many people fear they won’t be a good conversation for their date, but it’s easy to overcome. Before your date, chat to friends and family or get chatting on the way to your date in the Uber.
