Papa Johns has announced the opening of its second store in Northern Ireland, marking a significant milestone in its long-term expansion strategy to launch 20 new locations across the region over the next decade.

The new Belfast store will officially open on 21st May at Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast, BT4 3JD, bringing the brand’s signature handcrafted pizzas to even more customers across the city.

This launch follows the successful opening of Papa Johns’ first Northern Ireland location in Ballymena in December 2025.

Opening Offer: £10 Large Pizzas for a Limited Time

To celebrate the new store opening, customers will be able to enjoy any large pizza for just £10, available for both collection and delivery for a limited time only.

The promotion is expected to attract strong demand as local residents get access to one of the UK’s most recognisable pizza brands at a discounted launch price.

Part of a Wider UK Growth Strategy

Papa Johns currently operates more than 450 stores across the UK, and continues to invest heavily in:

  • New store openings
  • Digital ordering innovation
  • Menu development, including its recent Sourdough range

The Northern Ireland expansion reflects the brand’s wider goal of strengthening its presence in key regional markets while supporting long-term employment and franchise growth.

Franchise Leadership Driving the Expansion

The rollout in Northern Ireland is being led by experienced franchise partner Rana Group, headed by Rana Abhol.

With more than 25 years of experience in the pizza industry, Abhol has been a Papa Johns franchisee since 2017 and now operates over 25 locations across the UK.

His leadership continues to play a key role in expanding the brand’s footprint across the region.

Leadership Comments

Chris Phylactou, Managing Director UK & Europe at Papa Johns, commented:

“We are excited to continue our expansion in Northern Ireland with the opening of our Belfast store. Following the success of our first location in Ballymena, this marks another important step in our long-term growth strategy for the region. We’re proud to bring our Better Ingredients, Better Pizza promise to more customers, while also creating valuable job opportunities and supporting local communities.”

What This Means for Belfast’s Food Scene

The arrival of another major international pizza chain strengthens Belfast’s growing quick-service dining sector, offering more choice for local consumers and contributing to the city’s ongoing hospitality growth.

With competitive pricing, delivery options, and a strong brand presence, the new store is expected to become a key addition to the Upper Newtownards Road area.
