The singer personally co-wrote and co-composed the track, using the metaphor of 99 degrees—just below boiling point—to represent love that only becomes complete through another person. Rather than celebrating perfection, the lyrics focus on sincerity, emotional growth and discovering wholeness in life’s imperfections.
As the arrangement reaches its emotional climax, the instrumentation fades back, allowing JAEHYUN’s vocals to deliver an intimate and heartfelt conclusion.
