The UK awoke this morning wondering if it was April 1st as a social media video dropped showcasing a horse wearing a pair of custom trainers.
The content, posted by viral sensation Sam Dracott Farrier, shows him putting pair of ‘Valentine’s Gift perfect’ sneakers on a horse before walking her about her yard and posing for pictures in her eventing ring while donning the unusual equestrian footwear.
The sneakers, dubbed ‘Horse Kicks’ were developed by a Kentucky based sneaker lapel designer named Marcus Floyd, who went viral in the US last year for creating the incredible sneakers for horses. Marcus contacted Sam on Tik Tok and offered Sam a pair of his new ‘Valentine’s Horse Kicks – perfect for the ultimate equestrian lover who already has everything’.
The Horse Kicks, which are handmade and moulded around existing approved horse boots, cost over £1,000 per hoof, are made to order and are flown in from the United States especially, making this the most extravagant Valentine’s Gift on the Equestrian market.
Sam Dracott, who has been in the most viewed UK Top Ten Tik Tok list for three years running, is causing a splash on social media with nothing like them ever seen before. The real-life Farrier come internet star, who replaces horseshoes and fits them for a living, seemed positively thrilled to see such a wacky idea come to life, safe in the knowledge that they would do the horse no harm whatsoever.
“These horse trainers are just brilliant, the fact they are created using existing approved moulds already on the market makes them super safe and a bit of fun. I think they’re amazing! Obviously, they cost a fortune and are a bit on the ridiculous side, but in terms of wow factor, they definitely have it don’t they!”
Sam, who appeared on ITV’s Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh last year, was seen on the red-carpet several times and an even had his DM’s slid into by Jason Derulo, said he couldn’t fathom how a Farrier from Surrey had become such an interest.
“It’s mad to think that something so simple and old school has fascinated the world so much – last year one video had over 300M views, that is just crazy! Lovely to think so many are learning about it though, I’m very lucky to get to do what I do for a living.”
