London’s Mexican dining scene is embracing a lighter, more balanced way to enjoy cocktails this spring, as Mestizo partners with Leve, the handcrafted agave spirit co-founded by former Formula One driver Nicholas Latifi.
For 21 years, Mestizo has been celebrated as one of London’s most authentic Mexican restaurants, offering a vibrant social atmosphere alongside traditional cuisine. Now, the restaurant is bringing a fresh approach to drinks with a limited-edition cocktail menu that highlights Leve’s bright, smooth agave flavors.
A Spirit for the Modern Night Out
Leve is produced in Jalisco, Mexico, using 100% Blue Weber Agave, and bottled at a lighter 22% ABV to deliver a softer, more balanced drinking experience. Unlike traditional spirits, Leve allows guests to enjoy margaritas, palomas, cocktails, and shots without compromising on flavour or moderation.
Nicholas Latifi explains the personal connection behind the collaboration:
“Mestizo was a central part of MBA social life at London Business School and a big part of my transition from racing into student life, so collaborating with them now on Leve, which started as an MBA class project, feels like a real full-circle moment. Leve is the kind of drink I’d have loved to have in those settings – lighter than traditional spirits but still delivering authentic agave flavour – and Mestizo’s the perfect place to showcase it alongside their incredible Mexican food and social atmosphere.”

To celebrate the collaboration, Mestizo and Leve have curated a four-cocktail menu designed to complement Mexican cuisine while keeping drinks light and refreshing:

Alongside the menu, Mestizo will host a weekly celebration: every Tuesday, guests can enjoy 50% off Leve shots at both Mestizo Camden and Mestizo Chelsea, offering an accessible way to explore a lighter approach to agave.
