Aspiring creatives looking to break into the entertainment and creative industries will have a new opportunity to gain industry advice, make connections and develop their skills when MCM Comic Con London returns to Excel London from 23–25 October 2026.
The UK’s biggest Comic Con has announced its MCM Comic Con Careers Fair and Scholarship, designed to provide students and young people with practical advice and opportunities to explore potential careers across video games, film and television, voice acting, writing, comics, animation, content creation and more.
Alongside the huge programme of pop culture entertainment that MCM Comic Con is known for, this year’s event will offer an extensive educational programme aimed at helping the next generation of creative talent understand how they can turn their interests into careers.
MCM Comic Con London Scholarship!
For young people hoping to pursue a career in the creative industries, MCM Comic Con is offering a scholarship that combines access to its Careers Fair with financial and practical support.
The successful scholarship recipient will receive a free three-day weekend ticket to MCM Comic Con London, allowing them to attend the event from 23–25 October.
They will also receive a three-night hotel stay near Excel London for the duration of the event, alongside £500 towards travel expenses, portfolio building, tools or other resources designed to support their creative learning.
The scholarship is intended to give an aspiring creative the opportunity to experience the event, meet people working in the industries they are interested in and take advantage of the advice available throughout the weekend.
Applications are currently open and close at midnight on Monday 28 September 2026.

Explore Careers Across the Creative Industries!
The MCM Comic Con Careers Fair will take place throughout the three-day event, with sessions included as part of the MCM Comic Con ticket.
The programme covers a broad range of creative careers, making it particularly relevant to anyone who knows they want to work in entertainment but may not yet know exactly which route to take.
For aspiring game developers, sessions will explore game design and development, games testing and the different career paths available within the video games industry.
Those interested in voice acting will also have the chance to hear directly from professional voice actors about what it takes to bring video game characters to life and how newcomers can begin building a career in the field.
Meanwhile, film and television enthusiasts can learn about opportunities within the industry from representatives of the British Film Institute, while aspiring musicians and composers can discover what goes into creating music for films, television and games.
Advice for Future Game Developers!
Video games feature heavily throughout the Careers Fair programme, with several sessions dedicated to helping aspiring developers understand the industry.
The Choose Your Own Adventure: Finding Your Career in Video Games panel will feature specialists from UK charity Into Games, exploring the many different disciplines involved in developing, publishing and promoting games.
There will also be advice for people interested specifically in game design, with Snap Finger Click’s Joanna Haslam discussing the skills needed to work in the field and the different roles aspiring designers could pursue.
For those considering games testing as an entry point, QA: The Gateway to Games Development will explore how quality assurance can provide a route into the wider games industry, as well as the skills that can be developed through working in QA.
Another panel will look at a question facing many aspiring developers: whether to start an independent studio or pursue a career at an established games studio.
The session will bring together indie developers and developers from established studios to discuss the different routes into games development.
From Voice Acting to Film-Making!
Voice acting will also take centre stage during Saturday’s programme.
Professional voice actors including Bronwen Price, known for work including Baldur’s Gate 3, Diablo IV and World of Warcraft, alongside Shin-Fei Chen, Teifion Sussex and JD Kelly, will discuss their experiences bringing characters to life.
The panel will offer aspiring voice actors the opportunity to ask questions about the industry and discover what getting started in professional voice acting can involve.
For those more interested in film, the Finding Your Career in Film-Making session will feature representatives from the British Film Institute discussing opportunities for future talent and offering advice on getting started.
Composer Richey Rynkowski, whose credits include RuneScape: Dragonwilds and A Discovery of Witches, will also explore the process behind creating music for film, television and video games.
Writing, Comics and Creating Content!
Writing is another major part of the Careers Fair, with sessions designed for people interested in everything from comic books and video games to novels and tabletop role-playing games.
Getting Into Games Writing will explore the role of writing in modern video games, while Start Your Career the Write Way will feature authors from MCM Comic Con’s Writer’s Block discussing how aspiring writers can get their work in front of audiences and potentially turn writing into a career.
Comic creators will also be able to learn more about the industry during East Meets West: Comic Artists Assemble!, which brings together artists from Western comics and manga to explore their different approaches and the skills needed to succeed.
Meanwhile, The Art of Making Money With Your Art will feature artists from MCM Comic Con’s Artist Alley sharing their experiences, from developing their own styles to turning creative work into a professional career.
For aspiring online creators, sessions will also cover areas such as working with brands, becoming a YouTuber and developing a career as a professional artist.
Building the Perfect Creative CV and Portfolio!
Getting a creative job requires more than simply having the right qualifications, and MCM Comic Con’s programme will also focus on the practical side of applying for work.
Crafting a Creative CV will provide advice on how applicants can make their CV stand out when applying for roles within creative industries.
There will also be a dedicated Preparing the Perfect Portfolio session, designed to help creatives understand when a portfolio is required, what it should contain and how to present their work effectively.
The event’s 1-2-1 Clinic Portfolio Review will provide further insight into how aspiring creatives can showcase their skills and make their work stand out to potential employers.
The Careers Fair will ultimately conclude with Quickfire Career Tips, bringing together recruiters and industry specialists to share advice for people looking for opportunities across film, TV, video games, music, comics and other creative fields.

Critical Role!
The cast of Critical Role will be among the biggest attractions at October’s MCM, with Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Travis Willingham, Taliesin Jaffe, Marisha Ray and Sam Riegel confirmed to attend.
The cast will appear on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October, with photo opportunities and autographs available.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
MCM has also announced stars of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the October event as part of celebrations around the game’s Songs of the Past expansion.

Animation fans can also expect Vivienne Medrano (VivziePop), the creator of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, alongside other animation and voice talent.
