Fans of fantasy, sci-fi and contemporary fiction are in for a treat as MCM Comic Con London returns to the capital from Friday 22 May to Sunday 24 May 2026 with an impressive roster of literary talent appearing at this year’s Writer’s Block.
Held at the iconic ExCeL London, the hugely popular convention will once again celebrate all corners of geek and pop culture — from anime and gaming to films, tabletop experiences and literature.
One of the standout attractions for book lovers is Writer’s Block, a dedicated space where visitors can meet bestselling authors, attend live panels, join writing workshops and have books signed throughout the weekend.
Brandon Sanderson Headlines Writer’s Block
Brandon Sanderson is among the biggest names attending this year’s event. The Hugo Award-winning author is globally recognised for bestselling fantasy series including Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive.
Sanderson will host the “Brandon Sanderson Spotlight” panel on Saturday 23 May from 2:00pm to 3:30pm on the Main Stage, offering fans an inside look into crafting expansive fantasy worlds and intricate magic systems.
The session will be free for attendees, although reservations are required. More information can be found via the official MCM Comic Con schedule.
Zodiac Academy Creators to Discuss Co-Authoring Success
Fantasy romance fans will also get the chance to hear from sister writing duo Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti.
Best known for the wildly successful Zodiac Academy universe, the pair will host a panel on Friday 22 May from 1:00pm to 1:45pm on the Capital Stage.
The discussion will explore the process of co-authoring fantasy novels, building immersive fictional universes and cultivating passionate online fan communities through BookTok and social media.
The panel will be included with all standard event tickets.
Award-Winning Fantasy and Sci-Fi Writers Join the Line-Up
Also appearing during the weekend is RJ Barker, winner of the British Fantasy Society’s Robert Holdstock Award for Best Fantasy Novel thanks to The Bone Ships.
Meanwhile, speculative fiction author Nicholas Binge will meet fans following the success of Ascension, which earned nominations at both the Goodreads Choice Awards and the Ignotus Awards.
Readers can also expect appearances from E.S. McLeod, whose latest novel Andromeda reimagines Greek mythology through a dark romantic lens.
Other confirmed authors include:
- Bea Fitzgerald – Girl, Goddess, Queen
- Rosie Hewlett – Medea
- Talia Hibbert – Get a Life, Chloe Brown
