McDonald’s is celebrating England’s record-breaking FIFA World Cup goalkeeper with a special one-day promotion that will see its popular Saver Menu temporarily transformed into the “Saved Menu” in his hometown of Washington.
The fast-food giant is marking the goalkeeper’s achievement as England’s most-capped player in Men’s FIFA World Cup history following the Three Lions’ dramatic 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway. To honour the milestone, customers visiting participating Washington restaurants will be able to claim one free item from the limited-time “Saved Menu” between 5pm and 6pm on 15 July.
The promotion will take place at the Washington restaurants located in The Galleries Shopping Centre and The Peel Centre, giving local football fans a chance to celebrate one of the North East’s biggest sporting success stories ahead of England’s World Cup semi-final clash.
Free McDonald’s Menu Items Available for One Hour
During the hour-long promotion, customers ordering at the till can choose one complimentary item from a selection of favourites usually found on McDonald’s Saver Menu. Available items include the Double Cheeseburger, Milkshakes and both the Oreo Mini McFlurry and Smarties Mini McFlurry.
As part of the celebration, participating restaurants will also hand out limited-edition cold cups featuring stickers inspired by the goalkeeper’s famous penalty prediction “cheat sheet”, a nod to the crucial saves that have helped England reach the final stages of the tournament.
The “Saved Menu” campaign gives McDonald’s classic value menu a football-themed makeover, turning a fan-favourite promotion into a tribute to one of England’s standout World Cup performers.
Washington Celebrates Its Hometown Hero
Speaking about the campaign, local franchisee Jasper Maudsley said the entire community is proud to see a Washington-born player reach such an important milestone while helping England progress to the FIFA World Cup semi-finals.
The promotion aims to bring fans together ahead of one of England’s biggest matches of the tournament, with supporters expected to gather across the country to watch the semi-final.
Big Mac Deal Extended Nationwide via McDelivery
While the “Saved Menu” promotion is exclusive to Washington, football fans elsewhere in the UK can still take advantage of a special match-day offer.
McDonald’s is extending its Buy One Big Mac Get One Free deal through McDelivery between 5pm and midnight, allowing supporters to enjoy a match-night feast while watching England’s semi-final from home.
