LEGO UNVEILS LARGEST SET EVER: 12,060-PIECE SAGRADA FAMÍLIA CELEBRATES GAUDÍ’S LEGACY

As part of the centenary commemorations marking the death of renowned architect Antoni Gaudí, the LEGO Group has revealed its most ambitious construction set to date: the new LEGO Architecture Sagrada Família.

Inspired by Barcelona’s world-famous basilica, the new release recreates one of the most celebrated architectural landmarks on Earth in stunning detail, offering LEGO enthusiasts, travellers and architecture fans a chance to build a miniature version of Gaudí’s masterpiece. The set contains an astonishing 12,060 pieces, making it the largest LEGO building set ever released by piece count.

A LEGO Tribute to Barcelona’s Most Iconic Landmark

The model faithfully follows the real-world construction journey of the basilica, mirroring the sequence in which sections of the actual building were developed over the decades.

Builders begin with the Apse and Crypt before progressing through the iconic Nativity Façade, the Passion Façade, the grand naves and sacristies, eventually completing the model with the Glory Façade and six towering spires. The construction process has been designed to reflect the evolution of the real Sagrada Família, which has been under construction since 1882.

One standout feature is the recreation of the basilica’s famous stained-glass lighting effects, allowing builders to capture the colourful ambience that has made the real church one of the most visited attractions in Spain.

The Largest LEGO Building Set Ever Released

The LEGO Architecture Sagrada Família (21065) surpasses previous record-holders in terms of piece count, cementing its place as the biggest LEGO building set ever produced. The completed model measures over 62cm high, 47cm wide and 39cm deep, making it a striking display piece for collectors.

According to LEGO Architecture Designer Rok Žgalin Kobe, the project carried a unique responsibility.

“We felt an immense responsibility to do justice to the Sagrada Família through this design. Our goal was to honour Gaudí’s vision with the utmost respect, capturing the rhythm of the basilica’s construction, its extraordinary complexity and ambition.”

The designer added that balancing scale, accuracy and authenticity while representing a monument that continues to evolve more than a century after construction began was one of the team’s greatest challenges.

Part of the LEGO Architecture Collection

The new model joins the popular LEGO Architecture range, which celebrates some of the world’s most recognisable structures through highly detailed display models designed for adult builders.

Fans can also enhance their building experience through the LEGO Builder app, which offers 3D instructions, progress tracking and interactive guidance throughout the construction process.

The LEGO Architecture Sagrada Família (21065) is available for pre-order now and will launch globally on 1 November 2026.

The set is priced at £649.99 in the UK and is available through the official LEGO website and LEGO Stores worldwide.
