LEAH NAWY BLOOMS ON DEBUT EP I COULD BLOOM FROM HERE WITH REFLECTIVE NEW SINGLE “WALKING”

NYC-based indie pop artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Leah Nawy has officially released her long-awaited debut EP, I Could Bloom From Here, marking an important milestone in her artistic journey. The seven-track collection gathers songs written across the past five years, reworked and refined into a cohesive project that reflects both her musical evolution and personal growth.

Alongside the EP comes the previously unreleased single “Walking”, an uplifting indie-folk anthem about embracing change, accepting what cannot be controlled, and moving confidently into a new chapter.

“Walking” Celebrates Growth And Self-Acceptance

The focus track, “Walking,” was the very first song Nawy wrote for the EP, making its arrival especially meaningful.

Built around shimmering guitar melodies, layered choir harmonies, expressive saxophone and a live rock band arrangement, the song combines indie-folk warmth with soaring instrumentation.

Speaking about the track, Nawy explained that it explores the peace found in letting go:

“Walking is an indie-folk song about letting go and accepting what you cannot change. It’s about the peace in learning to accept yourself and others where they’re at.”

Written shortly after relocating to New York City, the song captures a period of transition that helped shape the entire EP.

A Debut Ep Years In The Making

Rather than simply compiling previously released singles, I Could Bloom From Here breathes new life into familiar material.

Earlier songs including:

  • Mixing Patterns
  • ordinary
  • Quicksand
  • I Was A Flower

have all been revisited with fresh production, richer arrangements and expanded instrumentation.

Throughout the project listeners will hear orchestral flourishes, distorted rock choruses, intricate electronic textures, soaring saxophone solos and unexpected rhythmic shifts, giving each song a renewed identity while preserving the original emotional core.

An Artist Embracing Change

For Nawy, revisiting older songs became an exercise in recognising artistic growth rather than endlessly chasing perfection.

After performing many of these tracks live across New York for years, she eventually realised they represented snapshots of who she was during different stages of her life.

That philosophy lies at the heart of I Could Bloom From Here, an EP that embraces evolution while celebrating where the journey began.

Inspired By Indie, Folk And Soul

Leah Nawy has steadily established herself as one of New York City’s emerging independent artists.

Originally from New Jersey, the Taiwanese-American songwriter combines influences from indie rock, folk, soul and alternative music while drawing inspiration from artists including:

  • Brittany Howard
  • Mitski
  • Japanese Breakfast
  • Frank Ocean
  • Wolf Alice

With a background in classical music, music theory and collaborative live performance, she writes, produces and performs her own music, balancing organic band arrangements with layered electronic production. She is also a graduate of The New School and BerkleeNYC.
