It was another dramatic weekend across college football, as Kansas narrowly fell to Big 12 rival Arizona, while Arizona State Head Coach Kenny Dillingham addressed ongoing speculation about his future. Meanwhile, over in Indiana, fans witnessed one of the most jaw-dropping catches of the season in a last-play thriller.
Kansas’ Missed Field Goal Costs Them in Tucson
In a tense clash under the lights in Tucson, Kansas Jayhawks were edged out 24–20 by Arizona Wildcats after a late touchdown sealed the win for the hosts with just 39 seconds left on the clock.
Despite outgaining Arizona with 369 total yards (199 passing, 170 rushing), a key fourth-quarter field goal miss proved costly. With quarterback Jalon Daniels being assessed for injury, head coach Lance Leipold opted for a conservative call on 4th and 2 at the Arizona 20 — a decision that ultimately swung the momentum.
Kansas’ defense stood strong throughout, allowing 323 yards and racking up a season-high five sacks. But it wasn’t enough to stop Arizona from reaching bowl eligibility with a 6–3 record (3–3 Big 12), while Kansas slipped to 5–5 (3–4 Big 12).
