For a city that barely slows down, Jusu Brothers has grown into a neighbourhood favourite by doing exactly the opposite. With locations in the trendy ends of London in Notting Hill and Elephant & Castle, the pan-Asian wellness café has become a go-to for nourishing bites, exceptional juices, and a notably relaxed atmosphere that frequently turns a quick coffee or lunch stop into a satisfying hit of freshness and flavour.
Founded in 2016 by a group of friends known as the London Village Kids, Jusu Brothers was created to serve as a retreat-like space to enjoy morning coffees and light meals that supported both the body and mind, a concept notably absent from London at the time. Rooted in Japanese principles of balance, simplicity, and longevity, the cafés incorporate zen interiors, soft playlists, and nutrient-led menus designed to leave guests feeling better than when they arrived. This effort has very much paid off for locals, who now regularly depend on the cafes for breakfast meetings, post-workout lunches, and catch-ups with friends throughout the week.
The small plate starters capture Jusu Brothers’ light, flavour-led approach exceptionally. In particular, the Sushi Tartlet, a newer addition to the menu, brings together salmon tartare, cucumber, Japanese rice and ponzu dressing in a crisp pastry shell for a refreshing bite that’s made for summer eating. For something more substantial, the Chicken Soup is a year-round favourite, offering shredded chicken, sweetcorn, ginger and bok choy for a warmer, satisfying bowl.
Along with the Bento Boxes, the Salmon Teriyaki Salad is one of our standouts as one of the strongest dishes on the menu, combining a generous portion of salmon with quinoa, spinach, cabbage slaw, feta, pistachios and honey mustard dressing in a protein and flavour-packed plate. The Chicken Katsu Sando layers crispy chicken and crunchy slaw between pillowy-soft bread, while the JUSU Poke Bowl offers a lighter but equally satisfying option with salmon, chicken or vegetable toppings served over quinoa, wakame, edamame and fresh vegetables.
The Energy Bites work well as a light finish to a meal, with Coconut, Lemon and Matcha versions available. But for those seeking something sweeter, the dessert menu ranges from Banana Bread and Mochi Ice Cream through to Sweet Potato Bites and the delicious Fudgy Cookie, available in PB&J or Miso Choc Chip varieties, and served warm with banana and coconut yoghurt.
While coffee, tea, wine, and beer all feature on the drinks menu, juices remain at the heart of the Jusu Brothers experience. Options such as the berry-packed Ishiban, citrus-forward Sunrise, and tropical Tokyo Sunset showcase the café’s focus on fresh ingredients and bold flavours, with drinks customisable with the bar’s extensive list of fruit and veg ready to be juiced and added.
Nearly a decade after opening its first site, Jusu Brothers remains remarkably true to the original vision that inspired its founders. What began as an attempt to create a genuine retreat from city life has grown into one of London’s greatest hidden haunts for wellness dining concepts, with community, good food and thoughtful hospitality still firmly at its core.
Jusu Brothers can be found in Notting Hill at 147–149 Westbourne Grove, London W11, and in Elephant & Castle at Walworth Town Hall, 151–155 Walworth Road, London SE17. You can find out more and dive into the menus and seasonal specials right here.
