LONDON MARATHON WEEKEND 2026: BROOKS RUNNING TAKES OVER OUTERNET LONDON WITH FREE EVENTS, ATHLETE APPEARANCES AND CITYWIDE CELEBRATIONS

London’s marathon weekend is set to reach new heights as Brooks Running transforms the iconic Outernet London into a two-day hub of movement, community, and culture. Taking place across April 24–26, the activation will spill from central London into race-day cheer zones across the capital — and everything is completely free.

From elite athlete appearances and live podcasts to shakeout runs, DJ sets, and exclusive product previews, this is shaping up to be one of the most immersive running celebrations London has ever seen.

A London Marathon Celebration at Outernet London

At the centre of the weekend is a full takeover of Outernet London — the UK’s most visited cultural attraction and Europe’s largest digital exhibition space.

Across Friday and Saturday, visitors can expect:

  • Live workouts and meet-and-greets with Joe Wicks
  • Athlete appearances from Katie Taylor and Ashley Cain
  • A live podcast recording with Oscar-winning actor Cynthia Erivo
  • Shakeout runs with elite marathon icons Des Linden and Kara Goucher
  • Early access to the new Brooks Hyperion Elite 6
  • A limited-edition fashion collaboration with cult brand Boys Get Sad Too
  • DJ-led evening takeovers to close each day

The activation arrives at a time when London’s running community is more visible than ever, with Brooks positioning itself at the heart of the city’s marathon culture.

Friday 24 April: Workouts, Fashion Drops and a Celebrity Kick-Off

The weekend officially opens on Friday with Joe Wicks leading a high-energy workout session to set the tone for marathon week.

All day, visitors can explore the “Get Ready With Brooks” station, featuring complimentary nail art, temporary tattoos, and hair braiding — designed to get runners race-day ready.

Nearby retail spaces will offer exclusive London Marathon apparel and a first look at the new Hyperion Elite 6 shoes. Visitors who try or purchase footwear will also receive a free Brooks tote bag.

A major cultural moment arrives with a live recording of Nobody Asked Us, featuring Cynthia Erivo in conversation with Des Linden and Kara Goucher. The episode will be released ahead of Erivo’s own marathon debut on Sunday.

The evening shifts into community mode with:

  • Back-to-back pre-marathon workouts led by Joe Wicks
  • A community run hosted by Boys Get Sad Too, departing from Outernet

Saturday 25 April: Shakeouts, Parkruns and DJ Sets

Saturday begins early with multiple ways to warm up for race weekend.

Runners can choose between:

  • A Brooks Run Club shakeout run with Des Linden and Kara Goucher
  • Two supported parkruns hosted by Brooks ambassadors

Clapham Common parkrun — led by Ashley Cain
Thames Path Valley parkrun — led by Katie Taylor

Both events are free, with exclusive Brooks London shoelace giveaways for participants.

Back at Outernet London, the full experience continues with retail, activations, and the fashion collaboration space open all day. Fans will also get the chance to meet Katie Taylor and Ashley Cain in person.

The day ends with a DJ set party, bringing together runners, fans, and athletes ahead of race day.

Sunday 26 April: Marathon Day Cheer Zones Across London

On marathon Sunday, Brooks takes the celebration beyond Outernet and onto the streets of London.

A dedicated cheer zone will be hosted at:

The Pacific Tavern

Here, spectators can gather, enjoy the atmosphere, and cheer as thousands of runners — including Cynthia Erivo — pass through Canada Water.

Additional activation points include:

  • Victoria Station cheer zone with signage and giveaways
  • Community cheering stations designed to support runners from start to finish

These spaces are designed to keep energy high throughout the marathon route, turning London into a city-wide celebration of endurance and community.
