Hellmann’s Ignites Condiment Revolution with Mayo Currency Exchange

Hellmann’s is turning the condiment tables with a bold new campaign: the #MayoExchange. For one week only, sauce-loving Brits can swap out their unwanted generic fast-food ketchup sachets for something far more rewarding – Hellmann’s mayo, the ‘gold standard’ of our favourite condiment.

Those on team mayo in the long-standing ketchup v mayo battle have faced an unfair reality for too long – while ketchup is handed out for free at fast-food chains, mayo often comes at an extra cost. As the UK’s leading mayo brand, Hellmann’s is calling out this condiment injustice, with a playful yet pointed response. The world-first Mayo Exchange gives sauce lovers the chance to trade in the sachets they don’t want for the ones they do, ensuring that great taste isn’t just reserved for ketchup fans.

Hellmann’s have made taking part deliciously simple. Fans can take their surplus fast-food ketchup sachets to any participating No1 Currency, Thomas Exchange Global, or Currency Exchange Corporation branch, to receive sachets of rich, creamy, premium Hellmann’s mayo in return. Reflecting the current standing of mayo costing more than ketchup on the market, the starting exchange rate is two ketchups for one mayo – though, like any good currency, it may fluctuate based on demand. Daily rates will be posted in stores and on @HellmannsUK social channels, so savvy traders may want to check before making their move.

So if you’ve been stockpiling ketchup you never asked for, now’s your chance to trade up. The #MayoExchange runs from 3rd to 10th April in 62 locations nationwide. To find your nearest participating exchange, keep an eye on Hellmann’s social media or visit your local No1 Currency branch.
