The wait is almost over — Guinness is officially opening its Guinness Open Gate Brewery London on 11th December 2025, bringing its world-famous brewing magic to the heart of Covent Garden.
Located on the historic Old Brewer’s Yard at The Yards, Covent Garden, the massive 54,000 sq. ft. venue is set to become one of London’s most exciting new destinations for beer lovers, foodies, and culture seekers alike. Expect a microbrewery producing limited-edition beers, two chef-led restaurants, courtyard dining, events, and exclusive Guinness collaborations.
Step Into the World of Guinness Innovation
The new Open Gate Brewery London will be helmed by Master Brewer Hollie Stephenson, who previously led the team at Guinness’ Baltimore location. Visitors can enjoy a perfect pint of the black stuff or explore a rotation of small-batch craft brews — from IPAs and Lagers to Porters and low-alcohol options.
The tour experience promises to be immersive and interactive, featuring:
-
Step into the Pint – a 360° storytelling experience about Guinness’ rich heritage in Covent Garden.
-
Exclusive Brewery Access – a guided look inside the working brewery.
-
Brewer’s Room Tasting – a curated session led by Hollie Stephenson herself.
-
Pour Your Own Pint – learn the famous “surge and settle” ritual at the exclusive 232 Bar.
Two Restaurants, Endless Flavour
At the heart of the space, two distinct restaurants led by Chef Pip Lacey (formerly of Hicce and Murano) will anchor the brewery experience.
Gilroy’s Loft, named after legendary Guinness advertiser John Gilroy, offers British coastal cuisine — from line-caught fish to native oysters — all paired perfectly with Guinness. With rooftop views and a horseshoe bar, it’s an elevated yet unpretentious dining experience.
Meanwhile, The Porter’s Table celebrates community and connection, drawing inspiration from the hardworking porters of Covent Garden’s past. Expect locally sourced British ingredients and sharing plates designed to be enjoyed with friends — and, of course, a pint.
Down below, Old Brewer’s Yard transforms into a relaxed courtyard, with chef Calum Franklin serving up handmade pies and casual pints. This open-air space will host art, music, and cultural pop-ups throughout the year.
Shop, Sip, and Stay a While
Beer fans can also grab exclusive Guinness gear at two new retail spaces:
-
Guinness Good Things – located on Neal Street, offering limited-edition fashion, art, and lifestyle collaborations.
-
The Store – inside the brewery itself, where fans can pick up classic Guinness apparel and collectibles.
And for those planning private events, The Guinness Vaults on Langley Street will open in 2026, offering a multi-functional underground space for music, culture, and community events.
A New Chapter for Guinness in the UK
Speaking about the launch, Deb Caldow, Guinness GB Marketing Director, said:
“The Guinness Open Gate Brewery London has been years in the making, and we’re thrilled that the moment has almost arrived. We consider this Guinness’ home in the UK — a place to celebrate heritage, embrace innovation, and invite visitors to discover new flavours and experiences.”
When and How to Visit
Tour tickets and restaurant reservations will go live in November 2025, giving early birds the chance to be the first to explore the space.
