Rising rock duo Girl Tones have kicked off 2026 at full throttle with the release of their brand-new single “Volcano”, marking their first release of the year and signalling a fearless new chapter for the sister-led band. Bold, volatile and unapologetically direct, the track captures the band’s signature intensity while embracing chaos as a creative force.
The single is out now via Parallel Vision x Big Loud Rock, and you can listen to “Volcano” here on streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
“Pressure Isn’t Always a Bad Thing”
Frontwoman Kenzie explains that “Volcano” is rooted in moments of emotional overload and uncertainty, transforming disorder into momentum.
“Volcano is about how helpless it feels when chaos strikes. One thing I’ve learned is to flip chaos on its head and make something new out of it. Pressure isn’t always a bad thing,” she says.
That philosophy pulses throughout the track, as Girl Tones lean into distortion-heavy riffs and unfiltered emotion — continuing to carve out their place in modern rock’s next wave.
Amazon Music Names Girl Tones an Artist to Watch for 2026
Adding to their momentum, Girl Tones have officially been named one of Amazon Music’s Artists to Watch for 2026, joining a standout list that includes Fcukers, Florence Road, Folk Bitch Trio and NewDad. Previous alumni of the programme include breakout stars such as Alex Warren, Addison Rae, Leon Thomas and Mk.gee, placing Girl Tones firmly among the industry’s most promising emerging acts.
Touring the US, SXSW and Major Festivals — Including The Great Escape UK
Waste no time? That’s exactly the plan. Girl Tones are heading straight back on the road, supporting Dexter and The Moonrocks on a West Coast run later this month before joining Peter McPoland for his March tour dates across North America.
The duo have also been confirmed as a Showcasing Artist at SXSW 2026 in Austin, Texas — a major milestone for any rising band. As festival season ramps up, Girl Tones will cross the Atlantic to perform at The Great Escape in Brighton, making them one to watch on the UK circuit this spring. Additional appearances include Bonnaroo, Bottlerock, Treefort Music Fest and Outside Days.

Who Are Girl Tones?
Girl Tones are a high-energy rock duo made up of sisters Kenzie and Laila, both classically trained musicians who swapped traditional instruments for a louder, more electrifying sound — Kenzie moving from cello to guitar and Laila from piano to drums.
Their debut releases were produced by Brad Shultz of Cage The Elephant and released through his label Parallel Vision in partnership with Big Loud Rock. Since then, the duo have earned praise from Rolling Stone, NME, VICE, PAPER, DORK and Consequence, with Flaunt noting that their sound “evolves with each release while remaining unmistakably their own.”
Renowned for their riotous live performances, Girl Tones have toured globally with Cage The Elephant, as well as Silversun Pickups, The Velveteers and hey, nothing. Their early festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Shaky Knees and Austin City Limits cemented their reputation, with Rolling Stone describing them as “proudly imperfect” in contrast to more polished rock contemporaries.
As 2026 unfolds, Girl Tones show no signs of slowing down — with new music, major tours and global festival slots already stacking up.
