G2’S RED AURA LAUNCHES ON WEBTOON AS ESPORTS BRAND EXPANDS INTO ORIGINAL ENTERTAINMENT!

Leading esports organisation G2 Esports is taking another major step into the entertainment space with the English-language launch of Red Aura, its original fantasy-action webcomic. The series will debut on Saturday, 6 June via WEBTOON Originals, bringing G2’s competitive DNA to a global audience through anime-inspired storytelling.

Following a successful debut on LINE MANGA in Japan in October 2025, where the title reached the Top 10 new series chart during its opening weekend, Red Aura is now set to reach millions of readers worldwide through one of the largest digital comics platforms in the world.

What Is Red Aura?

At the heart of Red Aura is Asa, a young girl determined to become the greatest Nomad who ever lived. Set in a fantasy world driven by rivalry, ambition and perseverance, the story follows her journey as she develops her abilities while facing increasingly dangerous enemies and the consequences of chasing greatness.

The series draws inspiration from the competitive spirit that has fuelled G2’s rise over the last decade, transforming esports themes into a shonen-inspired adventure filled with action and character development.

Readers will be able to access 20 episodes immediately at launch, including 15 free chapters and five Fast Pass episodes, before the story continues with weekly releases. The first season is expected to span 42 episodes.

A Creative Team With Major Webcomic Experience

Red Aura has been developed in collaboration with KISAI Entertainment, the studio known for webcomic adaptations of popular franchises including the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and the hit fantasy web novel adaptation The Beginning After the End.

The project’s visual identity is led by Japanese art director Runbel, whose previous work includes the highly successful fantasy-action series Skill Master Levels Up.

Designed specifically for WEBTOON’s vertical scrolling format, the comic also experiments with platform-native storytelling techniques, including a chapter that integrates music directly into the reading experience.

G2 Continues Its Entertainment Expansion

According to G2 COO Sabrina Ratih, Red Aura represents a key milestone in the organisation’s broader entertainment ambitions.

“Red Aura was created as a way to reimagine the ambition and competitive spirit that have defined G2 over the last decade. Following the response to the Japanese launch, we’re excited to now bring the series to a global audience through WEBTOON.”

The launch reflects G2’s growing focus on entertainment and original intellectual property beyond traditional esports competition.

Over recent years, the organisation has expanded through collaborations with brands and franchises including Smiley and Solo Leveling, while also investing in media ventures and participating in Kings League.

Launch Event Featuring VALORANT Creator Shanks

To celebrate the release, G2 creator and VALORANT streamer Shanks will host a live reading of Red Aura. Additional details surrounding the event are expected to be announced closer to launch.
