Did you know that searches around haircare peaked at the beginning of April 2021 as well as April 2020? In fact, April 2021 represented the highest search moment for haircare over the past five years. Haircare is BIG news for spring. So what are we all looking for?
Over the past 90 days, searches for “how to get rid of a dry scalp” have seen a +300% uptake and it’s clear consumers are desperately seeking a scalp care saviour with searches for “scalp moisturiser UK” up by 90% and “Head and Shoulders scalp relief” up by a whopping 170%.
Head & Shoulders newest range of DERMAX PRO is the answer to consumer prayers. The shampoo, conditioner and first-ever scalp balm, act together to fortify the scalp-skin barrier, locking in moisture, and leaving the scalp feeling nourished and flake free. Unlike ordinary moisturising shampoos, the DERMAX PRO regime adds Piroctone Olamine, an active ingredient to help eliminate Malassezia, for lasting relief against dryness and flakes. The products are also enriched with Vitamin E and active Aloe which are known in the skincare industry for helping to repair, hydrate and soothe damaged skin.
“Our scalps are home to some microscopic neighbours. One of these, a fungus called Malassezia, can be especially problematic as it damages the skin’s natural moisture barrier, making it “leaky”, like a broken vase. When this happens, essential moisture escapes and scalp flaking occurs. The scalp is damaged and surface moisturisation is not enough. People often try moisturising products to treat a dry scalp – but without addressing the real problem, Malassezia, they’re not enough to provide lasting relief. So, scientists at Head & Shoulders went deep, to truly understand the root cause of the issue, and realised: a dry scalp is a damaged scalp and needs more than just moisture.”
