Berlin-via-Copenhagen singer, producer and DIY provocateur Debbie Sings has announced details of her upcoming EP, Oh My, due for release on 27 February via BIG OIL Recordings. Alongside the announcement, she has unveiled the EP’s second single, the high-energy and gloriously unfiltered “Sucker Punch.”
Following the breakout success of her debut album Debbie’s Songs in February 2025, Oh My sees Debbie sharpening her sound and leaning fully into club-ready electro-pop-punk chaos. The debut record earned the number one spot on Soundvenue’s Danish Albums of the Year list, cementing her reputation as one of the most exciting new voices to emerge from the Scandinavian underground.
From Underground Breakout to Festival Favourite
Debbie’s Songs introduced listeners to Debbie’s fearless genre-hopping, blending electronic, punk, country and pop with sharp humour and emotional bite. That momentum has since carried her onto major stages, including a packed-out performance at Roskilde Festival, and earned her a high-profile fan in fellow experimental pop artist Oklou.
Her growing reputation for chaotic, high-energy live shows has quickly made her one to watch across Europe’s alternative and club scenes.
“Sucker Punch”: Raw, Loud and Built for the Dance Floor
New single “Sucker Punch” picks up where previous EP single “Sunny Skies” left off, but turns the intensity all the way up. Driven by distorted synths, punchy club drums and Debbie’s most raw vocal delivery to date, the track is designed for both bedroom dancing and sweaty club floors.
Speaking on the track, Debbie says:
“Sucker Punch is a song about being sick of bullshit. It is about feeling like kicking some ass and eating everything on the menu.”
The single follows “Sunny Skies”, which marked a major breakthrough moment for Debbie, earning her first editorial support from NME, CLASH, and The Line of Best Fit.
A Fully DIY EP Born Between Berlin and Copenhagen
Oh My is a largely self-written, produced and recorded project, created almost entirely by Debbie herself while moving between Copenhagen and Berlin. With the exception of “Sucker Punch”, which was co-produced with her friend The Bird, the EP was pieced together in bedrooms, borrowed studios, buses and coffee shops.
Working with deliberately limited tools – including Logic, Nexus by reFX, distorted drums and heavily processed vocals – Debbie embraces imperfection, urgency and freedom. The result is an EP that captures chaos rather than polishing it away.
Electroclash Energy and Punk-Pop Escapism
An alumna of Copenhagen’s Rhythmic Music Conservatory, Debbie Sings joins a lineage of forward-thinking artists such as Clarissa Connelly, ML Buch, Smerz, and Astrid Sonne. While Debbie’s Songs introduced her as a genre-hopping storyteller, Oh My brings a more focused vision: more electronic, more punk, and unapologetically club-oriented.
Inspired by early-2010s electroclash and artists like Peaches and Uffie, the EP leans into escapism, humour and restless energy.
Debbie explains:
“Oh My is a reflection of a lot of internal and external chaos channelled into eight tracks. It’s electro-pop-punk music for the dance floor or the floor of your bedroom – made for getting lost, letting go, and carrying on.”
