If you are traveling to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for the Formula One season finale, here is your guide to make the most of your visit to the Yas Marina Circuit.
With some help from the team at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, we have created a list of tips and tricks that we believe will help you make the most of this unforgettable race weekend. We cover it all, from packing your trackside bag, to how to sign up for the Thursday Pitlane walk, and the after parties you do not want to miss.
The phrase “All roads lead to Abu Dhabi” has never rung truer, and here is how you are going to make the most of the final race of the 2025 season.
Getting to know the Yas Marina Circuit
The Yas Marina Circuit is a purpose-built circuit that joined the calendar in 2009. This race is 58 laps, featuring 16 turns and numerous overtaking opportunities due to the two DRS zones. We have seen constructors’ champions decided here, like Mclaren in 2024, and we have seen battles that last to the last lap. This circuit is known for show.
While visiting this circuit you can expect the latest facilities (no porta potties here!) . There are plenty of water refill stations throughout the circuit, it is completely cash-free , and practically everything you will need to do regarding tickets and event access will all be done through the official Abu Dhabi GP app. There is much that you will do through the app during the race weekend, but we will go over that later.
No matter which ticket you have, this event was put together with Formula One Fans at the center, ensuring everyone has a winners weekend.
Let’s start with the standout opportunity for all four-day ticket holders: the Pitlane Walk.

How to attend the Pitlane Walk and Other Trackside Attractions
Yas Marina was one of the first circuits to introduce a complimentary pit lane walk for all four-day ticket holders. This walk will take place on December 4, at 10:40 AM. To attend this, you must register through the Abu Dhabi GP app. There will be multiple sessions; however, each session has limited capacity, so be sure to sign up for yours as early as possible.
During the week, there will also be after-race concerts from Benson Boone (Thursday), Post Malone with a supporting act from Elyanna (Friday), Metallica (Saturday), and Katy Perry (Sunday). The concerts take place at Etihad Park and are included with all General Admission tickets, so all you will need is your race weekend ticket locked on the (Abu Dhabi GP app) to get in. If you are someone with the Emirates NBD Golden Circle Upgrade wristband, you will need to pick up wristbands for the concert, which can be collected at any AskYas stand.
There will also be after parties featuring performances from Calvin Harris and Idris Elba, but more on that later.
Packing your Track Side Bag
Sunscreen, throat lozenges, and earplugs
It can be easy to forget you are in a desert while at the race weekend, so extra skin care can help quicken your recovery time between racing sessions. Hand cream and sunscreen are staples, but I would also pack a few throat lozenges (or gum with the ingredient “Xylitol”) to help with any dry mouth as a result of the hotter climate mixed with non-stop cheering . Powdered electrolytes are also easy to carry; I recommend Liquid IV, as they also have an energy electrolyte, which can come in handy for the action-packed days. When packing your sunscreen and deodorant, I would opt for a stick version, as most aerosol products are banned, and there would be nothing worse than having to throw out a brand-new deodorant.
If you have never heard a Formula One car in person, they are loud. I love the sound of the V6 as much as anyone, but if you wish to protect your ears from the sound, earplugs would be a wise addition to your bag. Loop is a brand I have heard positive comments about, and if you are a McLaren fan, you can even get this pair with their signature papaya colorway. Earplugs and headphones are available for purchase across the circuit.

A Portable Battery, Binoculars, and Bag Requirements
A fully charged portable battery is a must-have for any race weekend, especially if you plan to spend all day at the circuit and enjoy the concerts in the evenings.
While the Yas Marina Circuit does have TV screens throughout the circuit, you may find that a small pair of binoculars will come in handy. Binoculars are not always the most aesthetically appealing item, however, you will not regret having a pair. I like these by Nikon, as they are compact and easy to travel with. You could decorate them with your favorite drivers’ stickers and make them a trackside bag staple.
Radios are available for purchase at the circuit, tuned to the 102.20 FM channel.
There are bag requirements at both the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and at Etihad Park, the venue where all concerts are held. While both requirements are similar, I would be sure to note the following if you plan to start your day at Yas Marina Circuit and end it at Etihad Park.
At the Yas Marina Circuit, small bags such as fanny packs and crossbody bags are allowed, backpacks and larger bags are not. At Etihad Park, the requirements are stricter, with bags needing to be 30 cm (about 11.81 in) x 30 cm (about 11.81 in) x 15 cm (about 5.91 in) or smaller. There is no clear bag policy at either location.
For those of you hoping to document this historic season finale, small digital cameras like GoPros are allowed.
Items you should not pack
Outside food is not permitted at this circuit; exemptions are made for those with doctor’s notes. Banners, flags, and signs are also banned. As for camera equipment: Drones, chest rigs, helmet mounts, and long poles are also not allowed. Professional photography equipment (detachable lenses and zoom lenses that extend significantly) and stabilizers are also not permitted unless you are accredited media, as is the case at most race circuits.
Your shuttle passes and where to park
Shuttles are free, with several different pickup and drop-off points. If you are driving, you can park for free at Yas Mall and either call a cab or take the shuttle.
There are two shuttle services: the Circuit Circular Shuttle and the Internal Circuit Shuttle. Both run on a 15-minute loop starting 30 minutes prior to gate opening and until 1 AM.
The routes are as follows but be sure to check your app before heading out each day. If you are someone that is staying on Yas Island, walking may be the easiest option, as everything is close together.
If you are someone who wants a stop with the shortest wait time, in recent years the Yas Mall and Yas Plaza Hotel have had the shortest queues, especially in the midafternoon.

Attending the Race:
The weather, what to wear, and how to watch the Podium Celebration
The weather is not incredibly hot, but if you are not accustomed to humid temperatures, this will be something you notice. Fabrics like linen, silk, or cotton are great options to keep your clothing breathable and sweat minimal.
Comfort is key to a successful race weekend; something I will always recommend is a light sweater over your shoulders. In Abu Dhabi, as the sun sets, the temperature cools. So, this tip is a three-in-one because the humble sweater will shield your shoulders from the sun, double as something to sit on while watching the race and even keep you warm if you need it as the sun sets. Making you as comfortable as you need to be to focus on the race.
Continuing the topic of what to wear, a good pair of sneakers should be on your packing list. I have worn Veja V10’s to many raceweekends, and logged many walking miles in them. Wearing a shoe that is comfortable to you is the most important thing here. Regardless of your ticket status you can expect to walk a notable amount through the race weekend.
The best viewing for general admission ticket holders are the Abu Dhabi Hills. At this viewing area you can view turns 2 to 6. The best way to get here is to enter through North Gate 1 or 2. Both lead directly to the Hill and reduce walking time.
The best place to watch the podium celebration is from the main grandstands, as they are directly across from the podium. However, if you are someone who wants to “race the podium,” this is something that will be possible- but only to a limited number of fans. The access points are at the Main Grandstand and Marina Grandstand. More information about this will be posted to the Abu Dhabi GP app, so be sure to follow it closely.
All about the Abu Dhabi GP app
The app will serve as your compass throughout this race weekend. It is where your tickets can be found, how you can sign up for other fan activations, and have your map of the circuit. Before leaving your hotel, be sure to log in to the app and familiarize yourself with the layout. There is also a tool called “Wayfinding” which can help you navigate the circuit and is what you will use to find your entrance to the circuit.
If you are attending the Thursday pitlane walk, or any concerts in the evening, the app is also where you will register.
Events, Activations Scheduling
As I have stated, this was a purpose built circuit and just as much attention went into making sure fans could make the most out of their race weekend.
If you are a three and four day ticket holder, your ticket gets you 1 day of complimentary access to one of the many attractions around Abu Dhabi. Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros, or the Louvre Abu Dhabi are just a few. You can find the full list of all attractions here. The Ferrari World is a must-see for any motorsport fan and features the world’s fastest roller coaster.
As promised, I have the schedule for all official after-parties and where to find them. All after parties are 21+ and most require a ticket, which can be purchased here.
Friday, 5 December – Keinemusik at Yas Gateway Park
Friday, 5 December – Idris Elba at Garden on Yas. If you have Garden on Yas General Access you will have access to this event without having to purchase a separate ticket. This only applies to this after party.
Saturday, 6 December – Calvin Harris at Garden on Yas
Saturday, 6 December – Deck at Nine
Sunday, 7 December – Enoo Napa at Luna Lounge
