NFL’s Global Growth Continues
The 2025 programme marks another milestone in the league’s international expansion strategy. With the addition of New Zealand, there are now 10 eligible international markets participating in the initiative.
A major driver behind this global momentum is the NFL’s Global Markets Program, which grants clubs international marketing rights to build brand awareness through fan engagement events, partnerships and commercial opportunities. All 32 franchises are now active across 21 international markets — clear evidence of the sport’s accelerating global appeal.
The United Kingdom, Germany and Mexico in particular continue to emerge as powerhouse markets for American football, with sell-out international games and growing grassroots communities.
Looking Ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft
The Ultimate NFL International Fan of the Year will be announced at the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, where nominees will experience one of the league’s biggest annual events firsthand.
Last year’s winner, Miami Dolphins supporter Lucas Rossetti, was crowned the 2024 Ultimate International Fan of the Year at the 2025 NFL Draft — a moment that underscored how deeply embedded international fandom has become in the league’s culture.

As American football continues to break geographical boundaries, the NFL International Fan of the Year programme serves as a reminder that the sport’s heartbeat extends far beyond the U.S. — powered by communities of passionate fans from London to Mexico City, Berlin to Brisbane.
