WHAT TO EAT NOW: LUNCH BY ORANJ

Oranj, known for its selection of natural wines and bringing global culinary talent to its evening pop-ups, will now offer lunchtime hospitality with something you definitely don’t get on your average sarnie stop.

Lunch by Oranj features guest chef specials that are reflective of the restaurant’s evening offering. Chefs-in-residence will be invited to interpret their perfect sando on a canvas of soft and delicious milk bread, available for a limited time only. The concept provides a taste of the cuisine at Oranj by-night, in a more casual setting, using the same restaurant-quality ingredients.

The inaugural SANDO #01, crafted by chef Steven Chen, showcases a mouthwatering pork and shrimp katsu paired with x.o coleslaw, all nestled between lightly toasted milk bread. It’s served with a chili oil ponzu dipping sauce, in a nod to Chen’s famous prawn toast.

Perfectly paired with a Jarritos Lime, Club Mate, or zippy glass of Domaine Achillee Pepin Orange NV or Markus Altenburger Rosé 2022 from the carefully considered natural wine and softs list.

From Tuesday – Saturday every week, chefs will sling 50 sandos each day from 12pm until stocks last. Customers are welcome to dine in or take their lunch to-go.

To celebrate the launch month of October, the first 10 customers each day will be given a sando on the house.
